With the arrival of October, we’re officially less than four months away from that countdown to a new year… and I’m kinda’ freaking out about it. But they’ll be plenty of time for that conversation later. A new month, for this blog means another installment of ‘Month in Review: September 2019.’ As I ask each “month in review,” do make sure to share some of your favorite discoveries in the comments.

Ciao, September 2019. Bonjour, October 2019!

1: Blogging with WordPress | It’s been a year since I made the Blogger to WordPress switch. I’m still not sure if I think it’s worth the trouble, but I do plan to work as hard as I can this year to see what putting in 110% might look like. I know there’s been setbacks (behind the scenes) which is a little discouraging, but I’m still hoping to change all that. There’s also still a MESS in the blog’s archives. If you have any great tips or helpful suggestions that might help in the reformat (from Blogger to WP) process, let me know; I think I’m a bit OCD knowing the archives are a wreck!

2: Music | I am loving the new songs from Lady Antebellum. First they released ‘What If I Never Get Over You,’ which I was music obsessed with. Now their newest single ahead of the full album drop in October is the album title, ‘Ocean.’ OH. MY. GOSH. It’s a beauty! I’ve a feeling this collection is going to be my favorite from them in quite some time.

3: Reading | For some reason I feel like while my reading has improved (I was in a really weird reading space mid-summer, which I kind of think was like a post-INSPYs slump), I’ve noticed, there hasn’t been a book that’s “wowed” me for a while. Most of my ratings are 3 to 3-1/2 right now, which is quite unlike the normal. Is your reading changing?

4: TS7: The Sounds of ‘Lover” | Speaking of music, yes, I’m still listening (repeatedly) to ‘Lover’ and yes, I’m still loving it. Also, yes, just as I knew it would, many of the songs have grown on me. If you’re curious, you can see my one-week-after-the-album-release song rankings in the archives.

5: Vlogging | Filmed another vlog this past month, and though it’s scattered (what else is new), I’m think I’ll still publish it. Since I don’t know when I’ll publish it (I actually have a booktube calendar with video plans set through the rest of these year – whaaat!?), I cannot decide if I should end it “as is,” or vlog a couple more days. Guess it will depend on whether or not anything worth adding happens before I get to edits.

(Blog posts that, while not necessarily the most popular, were fun to write)

1: ‘Almost a Bride’ is the Madcap and Fun Old Time Romance We Love | Every now and again I enjoy watching a classic movie. This one has Shirley Temple, and while not revolutionary, it’s cute.

2: ‘Avengers: Endgame’: Marvel Makes an Epic Last New Chapter | One of my fangirl fandoms comes to a “close” with this final MCU movie. I know they say a select few of the Avengers won’t be back, and so this was their goodbye, but I’m secretly hopeful this is a fib.

3: ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie: Make a Return to the Grand World | I mean, you’d worry about me if I didn’t include this, right? This is my “first impression” review, and while I feel fine that I wrote and published it so fast, the more I think about this one, the more I want to say. (Which is a reason why it’s probably good I didn’t let much time lapse because then I ramble which leads to overlong reviews.)

4: ‘Love Comes Softly’ 40 Years of Joy: Why this is a Timeless Romance | Put this together in the “ninth hour” and called on a few book blogger friends to share their thoughts, but I love these kind of posts! Why I don’t publish more is a mystery. This one is in celebration of Love Comes Softly’s 40th year in publication.

5: This is the New Fall 2019 TV Preview: Enjoy a Few Laughs and More! | Another of my most favorite posts to publish. Love taking a look at the new seasonal TV heading to our screens. Swing by the post and tell me what you’re making time for!

⇉ THROWBACK FAVORITES | aka the section in which we take a peek at what I was writing about or posting this time last year.

1: ‘Falling for You’ – Bachelors Bake and Fall in Love

2: The Geography of Lost Things – A Road Trip Adventure | A fun novel that surprises me given I’m not the most excitable about road trip novels.

3: I Feel Pretty – A Funny Girl Comedy of Expression

4: ‘The Rookie’ Pilot – A New Kind of Cop Drama! | Because when Castle ends, one must tune in for Nathan Fillion’s new ABC drama.

5: Truly, Madly, Sweetly – A Warm and Heartfelt Romance | Still one of my Hallmark romcom favorites.

Silver Petticoat | Taking a look back at my month in review on Silver Petticoat.

Articles and Lists | Talking all the fall previews this month! This includes the Fall Box Office preview; an Acorn TV streaming preview, and a Hallmark preview, which is unfortunately not accurate because the network made some changes (we did add in the appropriate updates, though!). Oh! And I also feature Kevin and Sarah from Chesapeake Shores in September’s romantic moment of the moth!

Film and TV Reviews | I reviewed a single movie this month, but it’s a fun one! Who else has seen Netflix’s Falling Inn Love?

TV Recaps | None!

As always, thanks to the editors of Silver Petticoat and my fellow contributors! Working with you all is always fun.

I had a weird reading month a little while back where everything was kinda… meh. It was super frustrating, but I’m so glad to be over that now. Hopefully you’ll get over your slump soon.

I’m still listening to ‘Lover’ nonstop too. I think I love it more every time I hear it. My favorite song is still Paper Rings, but a few others are inching close to taking that spot. :)

It’s odd because I’m reading SO much more than I was, but I haven’t been rating them as high. Makes me kinda’ sad that I haven’t read as many books that I *REALLY* like. :)

YES! Still lovin’ Taylor’s new album. ‘Paper Rings’ is cute! I think it’s become MORE of a favorite than it even was initially. Now I’m curious to see what re-recorded versions of Taylor’s old albums will be like…!
