A Festive Little Gift to You: Christmas Giveaway Fun

December 4, 2019 17 Comments

Hello, friends and new readers. Welcome to Finding Wonderland. Today we celebrate the arrival of Christmas (and the unofficial end of fall) with a festive Christmas gift giveaway. As a small way to say thank you to everyone who reads and supports this space, and takes the time to read something I scribble and then, leave thoughtful, insightful comments, I wanted to host a little giveaway to celebrate you and this season.

LIST | Warm and Wonderful Winter Novels to Enjoy

In this giveaway, you’ll have two choices to make since I’m combining two of our favorite subjects (here). One is books (of course!), the second movies. The giveaway will run until December 15, which will hopefully allow you to have these little gifts in hand before Christmas, since they are of the seasonal variety. What can you win in this giveaway? Read on below to find out.

What a fun giveaway. I love all sorts of Christmas movies: Love Actually, The Holiday, A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and many Hallmark and Lifetime holiday films.

Your contests aren’t fun because they’re all for ebooks. If you can afford to pay for a Website, I don’t see why you can’t pay $10-$15 for a hard copy, and $4-5 for shipping. People should go through the hassle of earning points for a 99-cent or $1.99 ebook? And how do you square this extreme chintziness with paying for (apparently) an actual DVD? It’s weird, this hyper-chintziness and hyper-controlling attitude to contests. I don’t read ebooks, I don’t want ebooks, and it’s pretty extreme having peoples’ choices being so circumscribed. Although you suggest that there may be possible further choices. On request. Super-big of you.

I personally love Rissi’s website and giveaways and don’t find them “chintzy” at all. If you don’t appreciate the content or her sincere offerings, go find a site you do instead of trolling with an anonymous hateful comment. You sound like a person who is impossible to please and always unhappy. and ungrateful.

I’m sorry you feel this way. Future *monthly* giveaways will likely continue to involve e-books although I do have a paperback U.S. giveaway running now. It’s MY choice to host an e-book giveaway just as it’s a reader’s choice not to enter (and that’s completely fine). I will say that not ALL of the e-books featured in giveaways here are 1.99 or less. Many of these specific titles may be (I don’t know as I didn’t check anything like this prior to publication), but I do feature other novels that are “new” books in my monthly giveaways.

In the past I’ve also had readers express disappointment they cannot enter since when I do host U.S. paperback copy giveaways as overseas shipping is too costly (which I used to offer frequently). But this is my space and while I’m sorry you don’t wish to enter, again, that’s your right.

SAME! In fact, I really need to re-watch this one soon because it’s been too long. :)

I love watching Christmas movies with my kids. The Grinch and Arthur Christmas are our favorites.
