Hallmark January 2021 Schedule: Celebrate the ‘New Year, New Movies’

by

Behind us are the 20+ Countdown to Christmas romance movies from Hallmark (not counting those on the ‘Movies & Mysteries’ branch) and so now, as the New Year approaches, we look to what’s coming in January. And I don’t know about you, but I’m always curious as to what their new movies will be! This year, the network rebrands their Winterfest campaign as ‘New Year, New Movies.’ With this new title banner, we’ll take a look at all (there’s a full slate!) that’s coming in the Hallmark January 2021 schedule.

LIST | FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIES TO WATCH YEAR AFTER YEAR

There’s some solid romance (or at least it sounds so!) to come, new Christmas movie faces returning in a second role, and finally a film we anticipated seeing last Christmas. All in all, the lineup looks solid, and is one I hope sets up some solid programming in 2021. Let’s look through the schedule.

HALLMARK JANUARY 2021 SCHEDULE: “NEW YEAR, NEW MOVIES”

Hallmark does sometimes alter their schedule. While I do make every effort to be accurate of the dates of these premieres, sometimes things shift which will change or remove some titles from their lineup. I will try and keep up to date on any changes, and if I catch any, I will make note of it here. Check local listings for specific times.

1: Taking a Shot at Love – January 2

Alexa PenaVega returns (after being absent in the Christmas titles!) as a dancer who helps a struggling hockey player.

2: A New Year’s Resolution – January 9

Originally part of the 2019 Christmas slate, this, appropriately, themed New Year romance features Michael Rady and sees the return of Aimee Teegarden (Once Upon a Christmas Miracle) in this story about a morning show producer determined to say “yes” more in the New Year.

3: Two for the Win – January 16

This one is set to follow two skiers (one a champion skier, the other an instructor) as they find love (presumably) on the slopes! USS Christmas’s Trevor Donovan stars.

4: A Winter Getaway* – January 23

Featuring the return of Nazneen Contractor, this film sounds all kinds of sweet! It’s to follow a normal guy who, quite by accident, is mistaken for a millionaire. *Formerly known as Love in the Alps

5: Snowkissed – January 30

Jen Lilley (also from this year’s USS Christmas) returns, again as a writer who travels to Canada and finds, perhaps, a romance.

HALLMAK MOVIES AND MYSTERIES

There’s not much new on the mysteries side of Hallmark, but on January 10, there will be a special encore presentation of the latest Teagarden film which is ‘Reunited and it Feels so Deadly.’ Then there will be a brand-new mystery in one of my most favorites series which is…

Ships in the Night: A Martha’s Vineyard Mystery (January 17)

Jesse Metcalfe and Sarah Lind return as Jeff and Zee in a mystery that will feature an art case.

Which of these are YOU most excited for? Are you anticipating any of these specifically? Are you hoping any have a new angle or twist a common trope? Any faces or new pairings you’re excited for? Comment all of your thoughts down below!

  1. The two I’m most looking forward to are definitely Taking a Shot at Love (both because of the plot which I feel is kind of refreshingly different from the Hallmark norm, and the casting of Alexa PenaVega & Luke Macfarlane) and Snowkissed (the genius pairing of Chris McNally & Jen Lilley is the major reason I’m excited for this one), with Two for the Win in second, and A Winter Getaway third :)

    1. I really enjoyed Taking a Shot at Love. There was something I especially liked about it while watching, but I cannot remember the “what.” *shrugs* “Snowkissed” has such a darling name, too. :) Hope you do enjoy/have enjoyed those you were anticipating, Kirsty.
