One of the remakes telling a story about an overworked Cinderella, Masquerade Mix-Up has a familiar TV romance star and that longed for happy ending.

Masquerade Mix-Up (2025) Tubi TV Film Review

Overworked and underappreciated, Ashton (Shae Robins) is the woman who no one helps, and everyone takes for granted. Her goal is to earn a well-deserved promotion but while she is the one who does all the work, her co-workers take the credit. Her publishing house is about to sign an important author named Derek Thompson (Dan Fowlks), a find that gives them hope for more publicity.

Cinderella and fairytale ideas may be primary themes, but the film is also a nice All Hallows Eve movie. But this is a label only applicable for those who want simply sweet versus horrible horror. Masquerade Mix-Up is similar to any of the other peer films which would include Midnight Masquerade or After the Ball, so if either of those are favorites then you can enjoy this title as well.

Shae Robins has been in many roles like this, and she plays the long-suffering modern Cinderella nicely. Of course, this film also has stereotype mean girls (aka the ugly stepsisters); a version of a fairy godmother; and yes a kind of glass slipper alternative. The film probably would benefit from a bit of polish, yes. (It also gets silly in a few places.) However, if you like a simple rom-com, and find the roles with Robins good, well then, Masquerade Mix Up is an ideal thing to stream on that next night you need something delightfully mindless.

Stream, at publication, free on Tubi

Content: This film has the TV-G rating and it contains nothing that is worth mentioning. There is some “mean” antics and a couple kisses a few times.
