The show, if you aren’t familiar with it, follows Elizabeth, the heroine who teaches the children of Hope Valley and Nathan, a Mountie who becomes the man to teach her how to fall in love again after the death of her husband. She is also raising her young son while Nathan takes care of a minor relative of his.
This season has been bonding them all as family and now seems ready to put them into the next phase of life. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves! Let’s read what happens in this finale recap of When Calls the Heart.

THE FESTIVAL PREPARATIONS
Spirits are high as preparations for the festival get underway! Everyone pitches in and has hopes for this event to be happy even if serving as a sendoff, everyone needs this after facing challenges as a community. Elizabeth and Nathan put in work to ensure it goes off well.
The event involves games, apples and much laughter. We also see Lucas showing off with a magic trick or two, including a choice to end his tenure as governor!
THE PROPOSAL
From everything one sees or finds about this season on social media, teasing that Nathan will ask a very romantic question this season is high. Promotion prior to its season debut even had fun with this, which means all eyes are all anxiously awaiting the moment and what the future will hold for these two. Nathan has even tried to ask the important words too. But life gets in the way.

Still, despite this, their moment does arrive, and for the lovebirds (Nathan and Elizabeth), it is sweet. Before we see it though, there is respect and conversation about Nathan reassuring Elizabeth and LJ that he will always be there, which is sure to melt many hearts. Then finally comes the proposal, which again is something sure to enchant loyal fans, and the answer is, of course, the reply you would anticipate.
And all of this to say nothing of the darling banter that comes with it all! Just take a look for yourself!
NEW BEGINNINGS
Everything ends with the idea of hopefully happy futures as many characters look towards happy prospects. This includes bright futures head for two people, which involves returns. Eddie is back in town, and Lucas, seeing her again, puts his feelings timidly on the line asking if they can meet when he passes through Union City later on. Later on, he is bolder which leads to a kiss… and Lucas joins Eddie on her next big legal aid adventure!
…and then, in future new beginnings to come, the episode ends with a very familiar face returning.

- Angela returns for a visit delighting not just her family, but Allie who loves seeing her best friend again.
- Rosemary and Lee continue to be doting parents to their little girl. We see a few cute scenes showing this and of course, we love the portrait the Coulter family makes.
- Speaking of Rosemary, she and Gwendolyn, the new character to join this When Call the Heart family in this season, share some special moments as Gwen struggles to embrace a more feminine side in the emotionally trying times that brought her to Hope Valley. A ruined new dress is the catalyst for this more poignant scene.
