Independence Day 2016, EST. 1776
Happy Independence Day 2016, friends, fellow book nerds and readers! It seems hard to believe we’re already celebrating our Nations bold red, white and blue colors, and the foundation on which our nation was formed.
Today is a day of celebrating, but also remembering and honoring. It’s a day to be grateful, to reflect and to be inspired by what our Founding Fathers stood for. No matter the political controversies currently plaguing our government, I am grateful beyond words to have grown up in a fee nation. Our Founding fathers understood these principles and stood up set forth these guidelines with the signing of our Declaration of Independence, and the men and women who fought wars in the following this to protect this, I am grateful.
But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever. – John Adams
Wishing you all a wonderful 4th of July, friends! May it be filled with much laughter, the making of memories, good food and sparkling simple joys. PS; don’t forget to proudly sport some red, white and blue!
IÂ am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these states. It is the will of Heaven that the two countries should be sundered forever. It may be the will of Heaven that America shall suffer calamities still more wasting and distresses yet more dreadful. Yet through all the gloom, I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory and that posterity will triumph in that day’s transaction. – John Adams (HBO Miniseries)
Hope you had a blessed 4th of July!!
Thank you, Heather. You as well. I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Independence Day!
