Sweet on You by Becky Wade | Book Review

STORY | For her entire childhood, Zander has been Britt Bradford’s best friend. She knows him best, and is one of the few people she needs in her life; and in turn, Zander is Britt’s greatest supporter. But close to his heart, he harbors a secret.

You see, since their school days, Zander has loved Britt unconditionally. From afar, his love grows as time passes. To try and ease the pain of loving her without her love, he leaves on a globe-trotting adventure. A popular novelist, Zander soon returns home to deal with an unexpected family death.

What he doesn’t expect is for the energy that is Britt Bradford to remind him why she stole his heart all those years ago.

REVIEW | Anytime novelist Becky Wade releases a new novel, I am there. Time and again her releases prove they’re not just a quality book, but also precisely the kind of romantic novel I enjoy most. Inside the pages rests a consistent story that never ceases to delight. Snippets of Britt and Zander’s story is sprinkled throughout books one and two, and like its title suggests, it makes things even sweeter.

BOOK REVIEW | True to You by Becky Wade – A Complex, Emotional Romance Becomes a Literary ‘Work of Art’

While I wasn’t captivated in the way I usually am, I attribute this solely to woes of a distracted reader. I’ve been in an odd reading place lately, and as a result, I wasn’t as engaged in the first half. That said, during this story, my reader troubles seemed to vanish; things finally click together, and it’s altogether a wonderful thing. Especially when spending time with a certain leading man.

Zander is the kind of hero we long to know and meet in stories. He’s good, kind, and loves Britt like no one else. Then there’s Britt who, though she doesn’t realize it, also has a greater affection for Zander. Through epistolary elements, we learn just how deep this love for her best friend stems. Like prior novels in the ‘Bradford Sister’ series, these characters work their way into your heart, and remain there. This trilogy has been beautiful in each of its individual stories, but also as a collective unit. From the genuine sister bonds to their respective love stories, we’ll miss the Bradford sisters.

With its charming best-friends-to-romance trope and the complex, but special characters, Sweet on You is a story you won’t wish to miss. My fellow romantics will be swept into the heart-stopping way its hero loves the heroine, and the fun mystery adds a page-turning quality we don’t initially anticipate. With joy and emotion, this series comes to a close in the best possible way, and the heartwarming emotions it evokes will leave behind a satisfied reader.
