‘Living Lies’: A Solid Romantic Suspense Novel
STORY | Life for Lane Kent has been one disaster after another. Still reeling from personal loss, the last thing she wants in the place she hopes to start again in, is to discover the body of a teen girl.
New in town, Deputy Charlie Lynch investigates the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, all while striking up a friendship with Lane. But when it comes apparent someone wants her gone, Charlie will do anything to ensure Lane and her young son knows they’re safe.
Living Lies, by Natalie Walters | Book Review
REVIEW | One of the debut authors of her publication year, Walters mystery makes its reader eager to keep turning pages, just not always in the way one might assume. Although this novel has plenty of the “adventure” bug, it’s more in the emotional side of this stellar read that will affect its reader.
BOOK REVIEW | ‘Seconds to Live’ is One Quick and Exciting New Thriller
The novel isn’t shy about diffing into some of the dark parts and pasts of its characters. In particular Lane battles demons, though others do of as well, just of a different sort. All of which we will her to victoriously defeat. I don’t agree with all of the conclusions of the thing (don’t want to label anything because spoilers!) that cripples Lane, but I do find this aspect of the book interesting. It makes for a compelling read.
I would be remiss if I neglected to mention Carlie. He’s certainly a memorable hero who is very likely to inspire swooning. The “supporting” cast also make for an interesting study as does the element of Lane’s support coming from those who aren’t family than those who are. Living Lies is a page-turning debut novel sure to be of interest to any reader who like Lynette Eason or Dani Pettrey.
