Small hometowns, family and of course, romance is what makes of this romantic-comedy that made its debut on Hallmark Movies Now.
High Flying Romance (2021) Hallmark TV Film Review
Bringing her skill as a musician to her small town is making piano teacher Hannah Adams (Jessica Lowndes) happy. Surprising her more is seeing Gavin McQueen (Christopher Russell) again. Having gone to school together, they didn’t keep up with each other’s lives, but now Gavin is back taking over a trade learned from his father with a young daughter in tow.
As the town busily prepares for their annual kite festival, playful rivalries rekindle as does the promise of a future.
TV FILM REVIEW | ‘ROADHOUSE ROMANCE’: A CHARMING ROMANCE WE SHOULD SEE MORE OF

One of the tiles that has been shuffled here and there for months, High Flying Romance is finally one you can see on Hallmark Movies Now. Also known as Kite Festival of Love, this one reunites Jessica Lowndes and Christopher Russell; their pairing before was as exes in the Christmas rom-com Merry Matrimony. They’re good again in this one as a would-be pair. This film does the awkward “break up” routine, but it also has an interesting concept of an ex-girlfriend that doesn’t tip the plot totally backwards.
There’s family values that ties into the story and like anything with this type of plot, there’s a festival, too. The film uses lots of color and rustic water scenery. If you were looking to watch this one, it’s a sweet one. Lots of good to enjoy, including the adorable spontaneous dance scene, in this 2020 finally-released romantic-comedy.
