‘A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE FOR DAISY’: UNEXPECTED REUNION LEADS TO SECOND CHANCE

by

Another of the titles from new network GAC, A Christmas Miracle For Daisy features a Hallmark star, a decent story and a few too many decorations!

A Christmas Miracle for Daisy (2021) GAC TV Film Review

Moving to Montana is the best thing he can do. Connor Sheehan (Nick Bateman) made a comfortable living in LA, but with a young daughter, Daisy (Rubi Tupper), Connor is ready for a simpler life focused on raising his whole world. Buying a new house requires some furniture and interior design so through his contractor he finds the name of a local business, and despite his expectation of a normal business meeting, he sees his past again.

Whitney Alder (Jill Wagner) runs a small interior design firm with her best friend and when a potential job to furnish a landmark home comes up, they’re excited. Turns out, its new owner also happens to be Whitney’s ex and with his arrival crops up a treasure trove of forgotten memories.

Written by a TV writer who has also written some favorites (Hearts of Christmas, All Things Valentine, Crisis Point), this film is actually pretty good. There’s a kind of fun “spin” on one trope, too. Some of the production or set qualities aren’t quite the same as peer networks, but I’m excited (really) to see what this network does. Will it grow? Or keep its premiere schedule more compact? Of course we want the former for the network, but as a viewer, I’m actually find with a smaller schedule. Helps to keep expectations (of viewing each title) manageable.

As a fan of Jill Wagner (Mystery 101), I’m glad I did make time to watch this. She’s good, as always, though I’m not totally “sold” on her co-star. I like him fine, just not sure there’s not someone else I’d have liked better. Still, no one in the cast ruins anything and the “Chessies” fan will love to see a familiar face in the supporting cast. Those of us willing to give GAC a fair shot at growing and producing content will find A Christmas Miracle for Daisy to be charming and sweet. Really from a Christmas movie this is what we all want and I’m here for all the sweetness.
