‘LOVE, LOST AND FOUND’: A SIMPLE ADVENTURE OF A ROMANCE

Though it’s not a Hallmark film, this film’s little tile on Amazon would always remind me of the network. Yet I never played this one. With a plot that tries to be adventurous, Love, Lost and Found is a little indie type movie with familiar faces.

Love, Lost and Found (2021) Film Review

Running a company keeps Claire McAlister (Danielle C. Ryan) busy. So busy she has little time for her influencer boyfriend Joey Bufalino (Jake Stormoen). But on this particular weekend, while she remains glued to her phone, Joey has big and special plans for his girlfriend. Including asking that one BIG question. However nothing goes as planned and after Claire stumbles (literally) off a cliff, the pair is separated and must be found, rescued and reunited in a journey that also takes a few detours.

I don’t know a great deal about the particulars or production of this film, but it’s more mediocre; not up to the same level as something you’d see premiere (most the time) on Hallmark in this network era. Still, if you want something silly and mindless, Love, Lost and Found is entertaining. The familiar faces helps as does the I-hate-you-but-have-to-tolerate-you banter. In addition to Ryan and Stormoen, you’ll also see Trevor Donovan. Everyone is ok together and fun movie fact, this marks at least the third time Donovan and Ryan share co-billing. They’ve also been co-stars in Runaway Romance and Love Finds You in Charm Ohio.

One thing I do wish had been different about the script is that the characters would have gotten outside the “being lost” element midway through the film. Instead they wander the whole runtime which I think makes the end far less genuine and believable. If the writers had cut some of this short and allowed for a little time passing in between, things would be less awkward and would have been a better story closer.

Though I know there are some viewers who cannot take this type of production, there are also some who don’t mind. So, to anyone who doesn’t mind antics that overreach (I mean the slip and bear… it is too much) or some script flaws, Love, Lost and Found may be something you enjoy. It’s imperfect, but there’s some pretty scenery and even some good lessons about remembering to take a break every now and then.

You can find Love, Lost and Found, at publication, free with Freevee, Tubi or Plex.
