A few years ago, Netflix released a little comedy that took its viewer to Australia. Trying to recapture some of that, A Perfect Pairing revisits the formula hoping to recapture some of that cuteness.

FILM REVIEW | ‘MARRY ME’: ONE GLITTER INSPIRED ROMANCE THAT MUST SETTLE IN
A few years ago, Netflix debuted Falling Inn Love another Australia romantic comedy that also has Adam Demos in the lead role. Like in that 2019 film, he plays a good character in this, easy to like. In fact, I think he’s the one character who the script honestly wrongs. Everyone tells him he’s not being “true” to himself because of the path he’s choosing and honestly, if that’s true, the writers do a POOR job of portraying this from his perspective. Some characters you sense aren’t happy and want something different. Adam’s Max doesn’t give off this vibe. That’s my big irritant about this script. In the end, presumably he does what everyone else tells him to, and that is one thing I don’t like. When you want to change your career, go for it. But if you’re happy, the idea that anyone tells you you’re not doing something “big enough” or important rubs me the wrong way. a perfect pairing
Beyond this rant, everything is fun. I saw many poking fun at this film, but honestly, I think it’s darling. Does it boast a few cheesy and typical romantic comedy moments? Sure. But this film is more wholesome than 90-some percent I see today and that alone earns it all kind of brownie points in my moviegoing heart. We need a return to more wholesome storytelling and I’d love to think something like this could be an indication of that.
If you enjoy fun romantic comedies that features beautiful scenery, then this is indeed a good pair for you. It’s fun and silly, yes, but Victoria Justice is actually quite good and it also has some gentle and heartwarming moments that are sure to make you smile.

Content: there’s not a lot to mention apart from a minor implication a couple may have slept together (likely they didn’t). Another couple is same-sex (if that bothers you) about three times in the film. There may be a minor profanity or two. The film is TV-14.
I’m definitely not shy to admit that I love a good romcom in movie form. Will take a look at this one.
Have a good weekend!
SAME! I love them and honestly, wish more like this would exist. I miss the 90s era of happy go lucky movies. :)
