SEVEN SUPER SWEET ROMANCE MOVIES TO STAY IN AND WATCH
This time of year the stores are full of chocolate, cards with hearts, and roses, too. We take that as permission to be a little bit extra for our love of a fun romance movie, and share lists like seven sweet romance movies. Because if we cannot share such a collection this time of year, then we must ask, when is it?

SEVEN SUPER SWEET ROMANCE MOVIES TO STAY IN AND WATCH. A small list of #RomanceMovies to consider heading into #ValentinesDay. #Romance #Movies Share on XAnytime we “repeat” lists or curate something seasonal, we try to find titles we didn’t include on our list from the year before. The starting goal is always to find some new titles, and most of all, for you to find something new to enjoy, and if that’s not possible, then to remind you of something you once loved. Let’s begin and see what we find.
SWEET ROMANCE MOVIES
as a disclaimer, these films aren’t all g or pg films. we use the term “sweet” based on how they ultimately end, things the character’s do or maybe the production, and the feeling they leave you with. they, like many films, feature characters who make mistakes, but most of them learn something by the film’s end. just keep in mind, we’re not using “sweet” as an indication that these are family friendly.
Please note, some of the trailers may show some PG-13 content. Watch at your own discretion
10 TRUTHS ABOUT LOVE
Tagged a Tubi original, this film (aka Love Can Surprise You) features Camilla Belle as a romance columnist who thinks she has life and love all figured out. Then, her life takes an unexpected turn, and worse yet, she must work with a new columnist who has a different perspective. You can stream this one on Tubi, at publication
The film is rated TV-14, and the notation is that it’s for language.
LOVE AGAIN
Not a favorite in terms of re-watching time and again, this is something I’d watch again and it has its moments. Based on a novel called Text for You, it improves on that by giving us more of the couple together but the film also loses some of the elements that made the book so wholesome. This follows the story of a woman finding love again after losing the one big love of her life. You can stream this one on Netflix, at publication
The film is PG-13 for sexual innuendo (including comments like getting “vitamin d”) and we see a couple spend the night together tangled in sheets; he comes out of the bathroom in only a towel. There is some profanity including an f-word.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
Based on the young adult novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, this is a (surprisingly) really charming and better than most romance. It leans heavily into the themes of being “the one” after not knowing the other person long, but how this script handles it, plus the addition of a narrator makes it surprisingly realistic. You can stream this one exclusively on Netflix seven sweet romance movies
The film is TV-13 for some suggestive remarks and common profanity including one f-word.
Nothing unique in terms of its plot, this Netflix film is still a good time about a plucky woman who quits her job, and tries to start a business of her own by landing an important client. You can stream this one on Netflix
RETURN TO ME
Pretty sure I’ve added this one to a list like this already. But it’s quite charming, and I think an underrated romance film. Minnie Driver stars as a woman who befriends a man she shares an unusual connection with.
The film is rated PG for some minor innuendo and “winking” references about a relationship; someone confesses they don’t feel confident about intimacy.
THAT’S AMOR
This film follows a woman who is overworked, and just when she finds the courage to approach her boss about her graphic design talent, she’s fired. The film then features a matchmaking mother and a cooking class. You can stream this one on Netflix, at publication.
WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
This film is charming and all kinds of sweet. It’s about Lily James single woman who is more than a little messed up about life and her perspective on what love looks like. The film is just charming and sweet. There is also some fun fairy tale elements, and Emma Thompson co-stars. You can stream this one on Hulu, at publication.
PG-13 rating is for conversation about sex and sex in marriage; there’s a reference to drugs and profanity. Someone enters more than one apartment, drunk, and removing clothing while making out. We see someone in a state of undress after sex two to three times.
