‘LOVE IN THE LIMELIGHT’: OLD FASHION VALUES FORM LOVE STORY
If the title of this film sounds like a TV film, you’d be right. From a popular network, Love in the Limelight, is a charming movie, which is (I know) a word I use often here.
Love in the Limelight (2022) Hallmark TV Film Review
Boy bands and girl friends is the entirety of young Summer’s world. At least it is when she writes her favorite pop star Nick a letter. When he randomly finds her letter in a pile of hundreds, they begin a fifteen year correspondence. Between letters, social media messages, texts and phone calls, the two form a friendship that spans over that decade. Then, fate intervenes.
Suffering bad press and the dismantling of his band with his brothers, Nick (Carlos PenaVega) books a small show in Utah. This is where Summer (Alexa PenaVega) lives, works a successful career and has a close family relationship. But meeting for the first time may inspire the change Nick needs most.

🎶🎙️‘LOVE IN THE LIMELIGHT’: OLD FASHION VALUES FORM LOVE STORY🎙️🎶 ALEXA AND CARLOS PENAVEGA CO-STAR. #ALEXAPENAVEGA #CARLOSPENAVEGA #HALLMARK #HALLMARKMOVIE #ROMANCE Share on XCo-starring a real life married couple, Love in the Limelight isn’t the first time the PenaVega’s have teamed up on screen. They have a pair of romantic comedies to their name and a trio of mystery movies. Now with a multi picture deal signed, network fans will be seeing more of these two in future projects. In this effort, the pair is actually good together. It’s hard to explain and it’s not that I don’t like them on screen. However for some odd reason, I’ve never adored them together in their movies.
Most of Love in the Limelight is sweet. There’s so many old fashion values and emphasis on family. You’ll hear words like “courtship” in the script and just the general “vibe” of the film is lovely and throws back to an era of traditions we don’t preserve anymore. That alone is cause for praise and excitement for the film. There’s some tender moments between Summer and her family. Same can be said for Summer and Nick too.
All around, it’s just a solid film with memorable themes. Plus if you like its leading actors music, you get some originals in this.

Content: nothing to note outside the “norm” of this network’s TV-G rating. There is a passing remark that Summer’s ex is now in a same sex relationship. Beyond this, nothing should bother long time viewers who value the older style.
