‘FIND ME FALLING’ IS A QUIRKY AND SLIGHTLY DARKER NETFLIX ROMANCE
Netflix tries its hand at crafting yet another romance film. This time Find Me Falling is a darker romance that isn’t a romantic comedy.
Find Me Falling (2024) Netflix Film Review
Broken in ways he’s not sure how to fix, John Allman (Harry Connick Jr.) leaves behind the city lights of New York and heads to Cypress where he plans to perhaps retire. His career as a rock star is over and his attempt to revive his career isn’t a success. With a popular single to his name, and now nothing, John isn’t sure what’s next.
Returning to Cypress, a place where he was once happy, John again sees Sia (Agni Scott), a woman who was once the girl. Now confronted with the past and his present, John must find the answers he needs to move on.
FILM REVIEW | ‘A FAMILY AFFAIR’ IS HAPPY AND HILARIOUS NETFLIX COMEDY
‘FIND ME FALLING’ IS A DARKER NETFLIX ROMANCE. Review of the 2024 #Netflix romantic drama. #FindMeFalling features #HarryConnickJr Share on XThis is one of those films that has an interesting take on humor. For the most part, it works and oddly fits the script. I think it’s also a story that has potential even with its recycled tropes. Surprisingly, while I don’t think everything works, I do enjoy this quirky film. I like most of the cast and feel for the characters. Melina is especially fun and sassy and cute.
One thing that isn’t ugly is the setting which is stunning. The film is more drama than comedy, so if you’re looking for a romantic-comedy, then Find Me Falling isn’t that. Music plays a big role and there’s more than one sequence that allows for this.
I don’t think this film is deep. I think it tries to be, and has some potential to be so, but it falls slightly short. I also like that the film goes for a kiss instead of building tension. In the end, this one is a bit different than some of its peers and even though it doesn’t revolutionize the genre, it has some good moments.

Content: we see someone jump and commit suicide. Another person makes an attempt to do the same, but doesn’t. A couple get into bed together. We see snippets of them in bed, caressing and kissing. The film is TV-14.
I just watched it this weekend and agree with your assessment. Honestly, I wish there had been a bit less focus on the reunion romance and more on his interactions with people who come to his cliff. That could have added more depth and growth to his character in my opinon.
Great perspective. Yes. I agree. I didn’t think of it at the time, but I did FEEL for the scene between him and the girl he talks to, so that might have been an interesting addition to the script. For the most part, I did enjoy it though… which surprised me.
