A Costa Rican Wedding (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review

Making the dreams of her best friend come true is part of the job Emily (Rhiannon Fish) takes on when she agrees to travel to Costa Rica. All this is to help her friend with final wedding plans. Though she has a propensity to being something of a klutz, she keeps trying and also has a sunny outlook. Wanting to make everything perfect for her friend, Emily makes sets in motion the plans for her wedding including a bachelorette party (that goes wrong!).

In many respects A Costa Rican Wedding is cute and lots of fun, but in other regards, it’s very much a “copy and repeat” of over a dozen other titles with the destination plot. The thing about this one that is different is much of the film “strands” its hero and heroine. Additionally, what makes this one endearing is Emily, whose mishaps and well-meaning trying gets her into trouble. It’s another thing easy to relate to since again, we all have those types of moments when we have the best intentions only for the result to end up anything but. Plus, it’s nice to see them be able to laugh at themselves.

One of the higher rated debuts (in recent weeks) from Hallmark, if you enjoy wedding movies, then this one is sure to charm. With lots of silly happenings and mishaps, plus a trip getting lost in the jungle, this is something sure to keep us in giggles. Russell and Fish are familiar network stars and people we’ve seen in multiple titles from the genre meaning audiences will love this. In the end, as each film does, this one has a happy ending and the pretty scenery is also a nice addition.

Content: Nothing to note that I remember. The film is pretty much the usual TV-G Hallmark fare.
