‘ALOHA HEART’: STRANGERS MEET WHILE PLANNING WEDDING

by

Taking us to, as the title would suggest, the beautiful place that is Hawaii, Aloha Heart is another TV film sure to please its target audience.

Aloha Heart (2023) Hallmark TV Film Review

Busy as a conservationist, Sara (Taylor Cole) loves her work. But for now, she must take a break and travel to Hawaii for the wedding of her best friend. For her, this isn’t going to be a chill trip as she’ll have to help with final wedding details, but the surprise of the trip is when she finds herself befriending Manu (Kanoa Goo), the new hotel manager.

Ever since he was a child, all Manu wanted was more responsibility. He watched his family run a successful and close-knit hotel and now as its newest manager, he wants to prove he’s more than capable of this task. Only he may have to work out a few kinks before he finds his stride in being a part of the family business.

While the setting of this is an adventure and features stunning scenes, Aloha Heart isn’t a winner for me. It’s cute, yes, but the themes and cast just don’t work. No one is unlikeable per se, but I also don’t feel a pull towards the characters, nor do I want to readily root them on. I know it’s not that there’s a new and familiar face because that I never mind. If memory serves me, there’s also the usual, which applies to many movies, last-minute wedding picks that just feel too unrealistic.

If you’re a network fan, I have little doubt you’ll enjoy this one. There’s silliness and drama (aka wedding details), pretty moments and questions about what’s next, plus, of course, the usual bouts of romance, too.

‘ALOHA HEART’: STRANGERS MEET WHILE PLANNING WEDDING. Taylor Cole stars in this 2023 Hallmark film.

Content: the film is the standard TV-G rating. There’s the usual kisses, but nothing else that should offend if you like Hallmark movies.

  1. As Taylor Cole fans, my mom and I started this , but couldn’t finish it. The preachy tone of its’ message was a bit too much for us.

    1. This one was, for me, quite unforgettable (I watched it months ago and just never posted the review). I’ve liked Taylor in her mystery movies and probably a couple other ones too, but yeah. This one just doesn’t stand out. The scenery was pretty! :)
