Working at Christmas in her role as a nurse practitioner isn’t the ideal way to spend the day, but as someone who likes connecting with patients, Asha (Anuja Joshi) doesn’t really mind. She does miss her family though. However turns out this day may be the best she’s had in a while. ‘CHRISTMAS WITH THE SINGHS’: NEW COUPLE NAVIGATES ROMANCE AT CHRISTMAS. #BenjaminHollingsworth pairs with new leading lady Anuja Joshi in #Hallmark movie. #ChristmasMovie #ChristmasMovies Share on XThis film, from the first time I saw its promotional poster art was one I knew I’d have to add to my list of must-sees. The colorfulness and the plot seemed interesting and as it would happen, Christmas with the Singhs is all of these things. I like the sweet kind of prequel sequence showing us a year in the life of these two in a matter of what, twenty seconds? It’s simple but effective.
Beyond this, the film moves through the couple navigating their respective Christmases together and there are some unique and interesting complexities that arise from this. I also find Asha a really interesting and compelling heroine. I think some of the stereotypes the film uses annoys and aren’t necessary. On the other side of that, the rigidness of keeping tradition as a kind of means to convince people something won’t work is ridiculous, too. Regardless, the film still entertains. Sometimes that’s more than enough.

Content: there is the implication a couple lives (or spends nights) together. There are the usual kisses but nothing goes outside the normal TV-G rating.
