‘BABY, IT’S COLD INSIDE’ IS UNIQUE ADVENTURE FOR TRAVEL AGENT AND A ROMANCE, TOO!

A perfect little winter escape romance, Baby, It’s Cold Inside is an adventure film about, well, destinations (literal and figurative).

Baby, It’s Cold Inside (2021) TV Film Review

The best in her office, travel agent Hannah (Jocelyn Hudon) is a little disappointed when her boss sends her to an Ice hotel. She doesn’t want a cold weather adventure, especially since this means her fun in the sun cruise has to go by the wayside. Despite her disappointment and unexpected travel plans, Hannah heads off to this ice hotel getaway that her bestie Phoebe tags along to.

Keeping an open mind, Hannah ends up discovering a unique experience and adventure with Ben (Steve Lund), the designer and co-owner of the hotel.

As is true of nearly any peer film with this kind of concept, any titles that have this adventurous spirit, end up being unique. This is not because they have different tropes or take a new approach to romance, but rather that they have a cool setting and the background or the scenery becomes a part of the plot. Hallmark has really enjoyed putting together titles like this and it creates a fun kind of story.

Jocelyn Hudon has appeared in many such titles, and so she’s quite at home in this role. Steve Lund is a lesser seen star on Hallmark, but he’s no stranger to them. What this type of film also does is give us a glimpse at things we may not normally see like using glass in art or, in Baby, It’s Cold Inside (clever titling, right?), winter activities. The cast is good and fun together, and I will admit the secondary “romance” (a term I use loosely) did kind of intrigue me because it’s unexpected.

If you haven’t seen this title but love the genre, then you may want to make time for it. It’s all kinds of fun, only be sure to have your favorite warm drink and a blanket! Otherwise, you just may feel cold while watching.
