‘TWELVE DATES ‘TIL CHRISTMAS’ FINALE RECAP: SEE HOW ONE FESTIVE LIMITED STORY ENDS. Recapping the #TwelveDatesTilChristmas finale. What did you think? Share on XSo, the story is inspired by the novel Twelve Dates to Christmas which Jenny Bayliss penned. We follow Kate, our perfectly fine heroine who has her comfortable world upended when her best friend signs her up for a holiday dating service. The kind with themed dates and sometimes awkward silences. For the past two weeks, through four episodes (two each night), we’ve followed Kate on these dates some of which end in tears (getting over an ex is hard!) and some bring her face to face with a nice guy she ghosted. As an aside, we also follow Kate’s dad and see the turbulent relationship she has with her mother, a woman who flints in and out of Kate’s life quite comfortably.

Now that we have a general idea of what everything is all about, let’s see how tonight’s finale, which includes that twelfth date, all goes down. Just know, there will be spoilers ahead.
THAT ONE KISS
Last week, Kate and her best friend Callum have a long overdue conversation which revolves around a magical kiss they shared years ago, and then Callum confessed to loving Kate. The whole moment was brushed aside when Kate excused herself, and eventually let the music suggest she didn’t hear Callum.
Turns out, Callum still has feelings for Kate, and he never forgot that kiss, which leads Kate to an unexpected person.
KATE and DELILAH
Kate doesn’t have the best relationship with her mum, largely because she constantly feels “second best” in her mother’s orbit. Still, in this place she now finds herself, Delilah pursues Kate, and so Kate does ask for advice. twelve dates til christmas recap
She has choices to make. A decision about what’s next for her, and about the men in her life. Delilah’s advice? Go on a date with a third man and let this help put everything in perspective.
It’s this conversation along with her own judgment that helps her to solidify her choices, which she starts to gain confidence in. But not all is rosy with her mother.
THE DATES
Kate has been going on different dates, and on most she has a nice time. By magical chance the one she seems to connect with most is Richard. Handsome and seemingly successful, the attraction they share (he gives her an extravagantly beautiful redo first date) is obvious. But then there is also Callum. How does Kate feel about him?

Plus, her mother’s advice lingers during her final dates (and possible third option). One of her last ones is with Charlie; this light-hearted date, which is with a fellow American, helps her perspective.

But the question remains; who has Kate’s heart? Still drawn to Richard, Kate and Callum finally have words, and they don’t leave things in a happy place. Callum admits things. Kate accuses. It would see they are more tangled than before. But the what ifs still linger.

Of course, this is Hallmark, so naturally we have to have a happily every after even if it looks different. This one delivers. Date twelve rolls around, and it’s also the one date that matters most. The final date is more event than anything, and in a beautiful ballgown everything Kate says she wants is in front of her. Naturally, Callum is the one who has her heart, and leaving behind all the trimmings, Kate gets honest. Together at last, they finally confess the feelings they’ve caught through the years. The perfect kiss both want awaits them.
ELSEWHERE in this Twelve Dates til Christmas recap
- Delilah gives some of the emotional support Kate has been craving and its sweet. But she also disappears when Kate (again) needs her most and then her mother decides to buy a house near Kate. This causes friction that eventually leaves them in a more hopeful place.
- Mac and Evelyn also talk, and it would seem the pair have found a companion (despite her reluctance, he wants to take her out) in one another. (With the help of an unexpected source in Delilah.) But then, he also has another medical relapse that interrupts Kate’s otherwise ideal date.

- Best friend Laura also gets involved in Kate and Callum’s lives, and she makes it her mission to fix her besties. Her reasoning is that maybe all these years they are in love and they just need to recognize this.
- Kate and Mac connect like they always do and the scene is charming and another sweet look at their bond.
