If you’re a fan of Outer Banks, Netflix unveiled its release date and video teaser this week. The fifth aka finale season will drop August 20 with ten episodes and the synopsis from Netflix reads, in part, as follows “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.” – via Netflix

In other Netflix news, after their show Stranger Things ended, the Duffer brothers had The Boroughs with Netflix. The streamer just cancelled the show after only one season. The logline for the show describes it as taking place in “a seemingly perfect retirement community, a grieving newcomer’s monstrous encounter inspires him to join a misfit crew of unlikely heroes who uncover a dark secret that proves their “golden years” are more dangerous, and they are more formidable, than anyone expects.”
The show dropped on May 21 and featured Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman.
FILM REVIEW | ‘PROJECT HAIL MARY’: RYAN GOSLING LEADS POPULAR SCI-FI FLICK
Netflix is heading to the rink, specifically the hockey rink, becoming the next big streamer to get in on the hockey craze. Netflix joins the ranks of the latest hockey drama, which is Prime Video’s Off Campus, in order to adapt the Hannah Grace novel Icebreaker. According to the novel’s Goodreads page, the novel follows a figure skater chasing the dream of being on the USA Olympic team and the captain of the hockey team who may “stand in her way.”
Hallmark+ is about to drop its limited series Paris is Always a Good Idea. The network announced that the exclusive Hallmark+ series, which is based on the novel of the same name by Jenn McKinlay, will drop July 30. The show stars Lacey Chabert, and the first two episodes will debut on that July 30 premiere. This follows a woman who tries to find a second chance through travel. Weekly episodes will drop on Thursdays through August 27th.
