‘12 Days of Christmas’ Tag: All of the Good Cheer and Books!

Hello, friends and readers. “Booktube Thursday” makes a return this week with the one, and only, seasonal tag Finding Wonderland’s channel has during this most wonderful time of year. What is said tag, you may ask, it is the 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag! Of course, as the title would suggest, this one is inspired by the song of the same name, and like any tag, it’s pretty darn fun.

LIST | How I Rank Some of the 2019 Hallmark Christmas Romance

As is the usual order of booktube-ing on our channel, I answer the first six questions in the newest video, and the final six below in today’s new publication. You can see the full list of Q’s below, but for now, here comes the 12 days of Christmas (at least days 7-12!).

‘12 Days of Christmas’ Tag: All of the Good Cheer and Books!

ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: SEVEN SWANS A SWIMMING

Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favorite animal sidekick?

Um, is it ok to admit I don’t have one? When it comes to books, I cannot think of anyone, unless we’re talking Reepicheep from Narnia, which I think he’d take exception to. Ooo! Would the Hundred Acre Wood gang count??? I mean, those faces are impossible not to love.

ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: EIGHT MAIDS A MILKING

Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

Gosh, I’m kind of failing here, book that takes food to a new level… I suppose I could put Hillary Manton Lodge’s ‘Two Blue Doors’ series or Carla Laureano’s ‘Saturday Night Supper Club’ in this category. Both of which aren’t only good when it comes to food, but also in terms of the stories they spin.

ON THE NINTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: NINE LADIES DANCING

Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favorite kickass female lead?

*draws a blank* I have lots of favorite leading ladies, but in book fiction form, I don’t know that any of my favorite are considered kick-butt kind of women. I guess I would say the women of Elite Guardian, Taylor Mills (from the just-released Seconds to Live), Dru Porter (from Her One and Only by Becky Wade), and too many to name!

ON THE TENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: TEN LORDS A LEAPING.

How about your favorite leading lad?

Let’s see, Alexander Bainbridge (Against the Tide by Elizabeth Camden); Justin Keller (Brunch at Bittersweet Café by Carla Laureno); Hank Harrington (It Happened at Christmas by Christen Krumm); Matt Harlow (Carols and Chaos by Cindy Antsey); Grant Quinn (P.S. Goodbye by Tari Faris); Ty Porter (Meant to Be Mine by Becky Wade); and likely MANY others, but I have to stop, otherwise this could get long!

ON THE ELEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: ELEVEN PIPES PIPING.

What is your favorite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

I’ve read some books about music, but I think one that stays with me is If I Stay by Gayle Forman. Primarily, I think this is because I never in a million years anticipated enjoying this one. Glad to be proven wrong.

ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME: 12 DRUMMERS DRUMMING.

What’s your favorite book ending?

This is a blanket answer: any novel that a: makes me smile throughout and b: has that must-have happily ever after.

  1. I LOVE this! What a fun idea! I will watch the video “half” later, but for now, I’m totally copying these prompts and I’m going to do this tag soon! I love your choices for the food books – Hillary’s and Carla’s! And you listed some “leading” men I need to meet, apparently (ahem, Carols and Chaos). :)

    1. YAY! Hope you do (did?) join in, Courntey. I thought this one was so much fun. Love Hillary and Carla’s books (both series are books I have in my mental when-I-have-time-to-reread list). Hope you enjoy meeting some of these dudes. ;)
