STORY | Nothing quite gets the heart racing like investigative journalism does for Sarah Denning. A journalist in the Army, Sarah is proud of the work she does, but less so about her past. Unhappy with her parentage, the goal of her life is to oppose her father, something she does well until a brush with death sends her stateside. acceptable risk
Gavin Black is a former military man who, along with his friend, retires and is now home to operate their own private security business. Gavin and Sarah met while serving in the same place, but after a few dates, Gavin discovers Sarah doesn’t seem to have the interest in him he does in her. When they come together again to solve a puzzling mystery, both discover they have secrets they aren’t willing to easily part with.
Acceptable Risk, by Lynette Eason | Book Review
REVIEW | Fast paced, easy thriller reading, this follow up to Eason’s ‘Danger Never Sleeps’ series is another fun novel. With some of the same characters as you meet in Collateral Damage, this is another good read for those that like the genre. Though the characters are easy to cheer on, this book feels like a similar blueprint to book one. There are lots of similar elements from a car chase to heroine’s soldiering through PTSD.
BOOK REVIEW | The Killing Tide: An Exciting New Favorite Romance Mystery!
All of this may be simply because I read the books back-to-back, an unusual reader trait. Nonetheless, it’s still a solid read. There’s lots of values in the story and even though she is stubborn, the reader admires Sarah for her diligence to find truth. The military compliments, and the “good fight” stance these characters take is admirable. They also go that extra length for the right choice.
If you are a reader who did enjoy Asher and Brooke’s story, you’ll certainly want to follow it up with Gavin and Sarah’s!
