#Remember911: Never Forget, Stand Proud, and Forever Grateful
On this day, 19 years ago, our world forever changed.
19 years ago, on September 11, 2001, a terrorist attack hit New York City, and the surrounding East Coast area. This day is forever imprinted in many a memory whether it’s because we were personally affected by it, or because, as a nation and people, we were horrified and devastated to see the loses, and the evil and hate one people can have for another.
19 years ago, things may have been different, but 19 years ago, there is some things we were proud of that today we belittle and shame.
On this day all those years ago, and in the days following, we were proud of our colors. We were proud of being a resilient nation. We didn’t dishonor our flag or try to twist it into something else.
Our police or fireman, or any first responder were not dishonored. We were grateful for their help, and bravery. I still am.
Today as I reflect on this day, and hope we never have to experience this again, I am grateful for these men and women, then and now. I’m honored to be part of the Red, White and Blue. I love our national anthem and humbly applaud our heroes like first responders, the armed forces and people like Todd Beamer. I love the freedom our country continues to protect thanks to the military.
Thank you to those who step up to protect us. To the people who enlist, to the people who join a police force, and to the people who run into burning buildings… thank you. I am grateful for you all, and though I will never understand the sacrifices you make, I respect you and appreciate you.
19 years ago, on this horrific day, people lost their lives in a way they never would anticipate. On this same day, countless people lost a mother, father, brother, sister, wife, husband, daughter, son and friend. No matter their name or title, someone loved them.
I hope we never forget this day. I hope we remember the feeling it left us with; and I hope we hold onto the pride our country and its colors stand for.
Let’s never forget those who protect and those we lost.
Never forget
