SOME OF THE SPRING 2022 FASHION TRENDS

Like anything here, I’m already too late posting some of the spring 2022 fashion trends, at least by fashion industry standards. However since I try to be a bit more chill and have fun regardless of the timeline, I’m still going to take a peek at what the “experts” say the trends or looks are all about, and while doing so, I thought I’d share with you, too!

Fashion hasn’t been something I’ve been able to play with or enjoy lately. So writing these is kind of like a “feel good” fun little reprieve and then there’s the laugh-out-loud moments when I see something you would never catch me wearing. I will say, judging solely by retailers (when I browse) or Instagram, I am not here for the resurgence of 90s trends. Like, why? I’m way past this. Either way, it’s still going to be fun to look at what the fashion show attendees say is in (even though most are hideous or unattainable). According to The List, the trends are set to style in a “smorgasbord of color, texture, and aesthetic.” Let’s find out what all of that looks like.

SPRING 2022 FASHION TRENDS

1: ALL THE COLOR (DOWN TO THE TOES!)

According to the List, pairing something like a colorful “gum soled” sneaker or the now very in platform or chunky shoe will add any pop of color and help to elevate your ensemble. This seems very much like a doable and easy fix to add a little color and fun to any ensemble! Even if that’s your favorite jeans and a white tee, this would add some flavor and fun, too!

There’s lots of sneakers on places like Amazon including this Puma casual sneaker in red (with lots of positive reviews!) or these canvas “play” sneakers in a few colors! Bazaar also says bright bags are a thing this spring season. This option calls itself a “satchel,” but looks as though you can carry it by its two handles, or add an over the shoulder strap, and in comes in a few bright hues.

2: MAKE STATEMENTS

According to Cosmopolitan, things like fringe or cutouts are all the rage if you want a statement piece. They also say gingham is spring’s favorite print!

I’ve never been confident or bold when it comes to different pants (I’m a jeans girl), but if you are, try these gingham cropped pants; they are also showing things like a vintage yellow sweatshirt, which most would probably wear with biker shorts (because it looks more oversized) or faux leather; there’s this gingham button down, which you could buy in a size or two oversized since I also see where the oversized button down is a thing; it’s not my vibe, but this babydoll style blouse, and who knows, paired with the right pair of pants, it may be the perfect workplace outfit.

3: PANTONE COLOR REPORT

Going back to the shout-out of bright platforms or sneakers, according to Who What Wear, their report, based off Pantone, says the seven “in” colors consist of these shades:

Not really here for many of these, but I can always appreciate a good neutral which something like ‘Humus’ seems to be.

4: TRANSITION PIECE

According to Who What Wear, dresses are still the “in thing” and from the words of the writer, she loves them as transition pieces, even wearing them under a sweater. Some of the trends include that statement report about cutouts, strappy halters or “trippy” prints. Don’t love any of the trends so if I do add dresses to my closet, they’ll be something I like and would actually wear. There is also the “saturated hues” trend according to the report, but seriously, does anyone like the “draping” trend!?

Seriously doubt this would count as “trippy,” but this black floral dress is feminine and pretty if you don’t mind shorter; this swing dress (with good average reviews) in leaf blue would apply as trippy or maybe this notched neck “green” print; or there’s this option in a dark paisley print, and could look cute with a cropped sweater or even a jean jacket!

Last words: According to Bazaar things like “Bra Tops” and low rise pants are also making trends. Also making a comeback is extreme midriffs and babydoll tees. I just cannot with any of these so we won’t go there.

What about you? Which of these do you think is wearable or attainable? Would you use any of these? Do you like to mix and match from your own closet? How do you freshen up your spring wardrobe? Comment all the comments below! Let’s chat.
