‘HELLO, GOODBYE AND EVERYTHING IN-BETWEEN’: NETFLIX ROMANCE FROM YA AUTHOR
One of the films released through Netflix, Hello, Goodbye and Everything In-Between is different. However, if you read the novel, you already know this.
Hello, Goodbye and Everything In-Between (2021) Netflix Review
Saying hello to Aidan (Jordan Fisher) is easy for Clare (Talia Ryder). The hard part is telling him that while she may be a senior, she won’t be going to college with one. They agree on an “easy breezy” ten months because of a connection and together, they set out to enjoy senior year.
The trouble is, Clare doesn’t expect their goodbye to be messy or hard. The plan is a clean break, and off to their separate colleges, but what if the in-between messes with her no strings expectations?
NETFLIX FILM REVIEW | ‘LOVE IN THE VILLA’: MEDIOCRE ITALIAN SET NETFLIX ROMANCE

Smith, this film is one of three films that Smith is set to have writing credit on. And this is the only book I’ve read by Smith, but it’s also one I have fond memories of. The film isn’t quite as memorable as the novel. At least not in my memory (I read it years ago), but it’s still sweet and one of the better streaming romances I’ve seen recently. If I was to get more serious about this story, I would question Clare and Aidan (starting something with an expiration date). But also they are teenagers so you have to give some leeway there. Beyond this, the film is cute.
The film immediately puts us into romance through the ‘hello’ portion of the film. After their meeting, the film rushes through the months to the ‘goodbye’ set up. But throughout the latter section, we do go back into certain ‘hello’ sections and expand as Clare reflects on their romance during their “firsts” revisits during their relationship. Usually, I’m not a fan of back-and-forth stories, but because I did have fond memories of this novel, I think I do enjoy how this unfolds.
The cast is pretty good too and overall, everyone does a nice job with their characters. There’s lots of sweet moments between our leads and since they carry much of the film, emotionally, they do a good job. Jordan Fisher is more of a practiced pro at playing young adult heroes, and Talia Ryder has been in films like the West Side Story re-make.
Some may not like the way this concludes as it’s not any set ending. However, sometimes these can be the best kind of stories because it’s that open end quality that allows you to imagine. It’s not always wholly satisfying, but it’s also not sad either.

Content: there’s not much to mention in this TV-14 film. There is some implication a pair spends nights together (they fall back on the bed kissing). There’s lots of kisses between the lovers and one same sex kiss. There may be some innuendo. Profanity is minor or non-existent.
I loved both the book and the movie and I also really liked the music in the movie.

I usually only post two posts a month (one book related).
Awesome! Thanks, Amy. :) And glad you like both. I do too, but I think the book edges out the movie just a little in this pairing.
