When it comes to the anniversaries of iconic movies of the 90s and 2000s, it always astounds me when I see a favorite turning twenty. This is true this year for a Reese Witherspoon classic. To celebrate its movie milestone let’s have a Sweet Home Alabama quiz twenty years later…!

Trying to remember the first time I saw this escapes me. However, I did love this film. It isn’t so much the story as this is one of those movies that has that unexplainable “it” factor that just makes the viewer feel warm and fuzzy while also giving the film some sort of cozy factor. Whatever this is, it’s something that Hollywood today doesn’t capture. The story, if you don’t know, follows a woman on the cusp of a career break as a fashion designer. Her life is suddenly under more scrutiny when she becomes engaged to the son of the mayor, only to realize she has a secret from years ago that sends her back home.

If this has, in any way, made you feel nostalgic, you can find Sweet Home Alabama digitally on Amazon Video

Warm and engaging in good ways, Sweet Home Alabama is one of those films that are hard to forget. Whether you love or loathe it, we’re celebrating it today and invite you to join our fun little quiz! Let’s get started.

  1. I was actually just watching this a few weeks ago, or at the least the beginning of it. The tension between Reese and the (ex)husband was kind of off-putting to me! They’re so mean to each other and not in a fun, flirty way!

    1. I don’t think you’re alone there. :) I think that’s a common reaction for most. (Saw someone even say something like this about “You’ve Got Mail” and Hanks character the other day.) I actually thought the leading female character was mean in the recent Netflix film “Love in the Villa.” Which is one of those hate-to-love tropes. I guess I didn’t feel this way in “Sweet Home Alabama” but I do totally know what you’re saying. There must be something about this one that makes me like it more (maybe because I “feel” the love eventually?) than their annoyance with each other. ;)
