Whitstable Pearl Series Two (2022) Acorn TV Review

The latest happy change to her busy lifestyle is Tom, the teacher she is seeing is her at her happiest. This despite her mother (Frances Barber) trying to reunite Pearl with Mike McGuire (Howard Charles), their local DCI, and the man Dolly believes best suits Pearl.

After their friendship and possible romance falls apart, Mike tries to move on. Pearl is who most helped him move past his grief and yet despite her ultimate choice, he still has a special place in his heart for her. He too tries to move on with Kat. Kind and understanding of his grief in ways only she understands, he likes Kat. But soon a new missing child case distracts him and even more distracting is Pearl working the case when their suspect requests her or he won’t talk.

Like anything from this streaming service, I do really enjoy Whitstable Pearl. Speaking of atmosphere, what it most reminds me of is the series Hinterland. One of the series I binge watched way too quickly set in Wales on the coast. The scenery while desolate is beautiful. There’s lots of shots honoring the scene which is nice and adds to the forty-five-minute story and characters. whitstable pearl series two

Speaking of those characters, they are good ones. I find the potential or possible or would be (however you want to look at it) love story immensely compelling. There’s something about it that’s so genuine and good. I cannot describe it, but the acting, the script, the looks, everything about the buildup and moments is to be applauded. It’s more interesting than most on television now and that’s what makes this stand out. The acting is good too and like I said before, it’s fun seeing Howard Charles from The Musketeers.

If Acorn TV is something you watch regularly, then don’t miss Whitstable Pearl and these new installments.

You can find Whitstable Pearl series two, episodes one and two, with an Acorn subscription.

Content: nothing much to note outside of the topics which is often dealing with murder or extra marital affairs. We see a body now and then, usually it’s not graphic. One is pulled from the water and the event is described in detail (a crash). I haven’t seen the entire second series so I don’t know what else makes up the TV-14 rating but in the early episodes, it’s nothing terrible.
