December 25th. Another year is come and gone. Another series of headline stories did we survive. In a world where anything and everything is somehow offensive, here we are again and this means bells ringing for this day as we again welcome another Christmas day. Christmas is a day that probably means something different to most of us. For some of us this day represents a day off and away from a busy workplace. For others, perhaps it looks like being able to go home and not unlike the moments in a Christmas movie, being able relish the moments of feeling like youâre âbackâ where you belong with your people. Or maybe itâs because it means presents whereas others find a special and more meaningful reason to love the season. Finally and hopefully most important, the day can represent loving the traditions and familial importance. Whatever is making you smile on this special day, itâs here and we want to send out a Merry Christmas greeting to everyone here.
The end of the year never really meant anything to me. It wasnât a time to make goals or anything like that. But in recent years, the end of the year always stirs emotions for me. Same as last year, Iâm feeling much the same this. These arenât feelings tied up in this day or what it means to me, but rather in where Iâm at. Itâs hard to be in a different place and be excited about some of the same things, and thatâs why the trimmings of this day may seem less exciting.

The one thing I would like to teach myself going into this next year is how to let go of the annoyance that is petty arguments. Anytime I’m more active on social media, I run across some of the silliest and energy zapping arguments. Makes me sad to see that we can no long have conversation, something I think is largely due to social media. If there is one thing I want to do in 2023, it’s this.
Focusing on today, as is true any days on the 25th of December, somehow some of those small magical things or moments creep in.
Maybe thatâs found in the laughter around the dinner table. Or perhaps a silly Christmas movie. Maybe itâs in that piece of pie only Christmas can entice you to indulge in. Even maybe you find it in the act of wrapping a gift and giving it to someone you love. Whatever it is, there is small snippets of magic and no better time than the end of year reflections and gratitude we, hopefully, practice. I know I am beyond thankful to everyone who shows this space support. Thank you. It means more than you know to this girl.
Wishing you the best, most joyous Christmas day. I hope you are spending it where you want and most importantly, with whomever you want. Hang on to the memories and the special moments you create during these days, andâŠ
