‘MADE FOR EACH OTHER’: A FAMILIAR FANTASY CONCEPT ROM-COM
Using a trope that is familiar to the genre of romantic comedies, Made for Each Other is about a woman looking for love… in a way that is perhaps too perfect.
Made for Each Other (2023) Hallmark TV Film Review
Art is what Rachel (Alexandra Turshen) loves. She’s good at it and has been using art to daydream since she was a child. Back then, she created the perfect boyfriend in the ideal clay figurine. She still has that perfect boyfriend, only now he’s life-size. He’s also who she talks to most. But when her days aren’t filled with teaching, and trying to make a match on any number of dating apps, Rachel’s greatest dilemma is how to deal with her overzealous matchmaker of a mother. Things are getting challenging.
After magical pendant brings Clay (Aaron O’Connell) to life, suddenly Rachel’s life doesn’t look so dull. Maybe, she’s finally met the one.

‘MADE FOR EACH OTHER’: A FAMILIAR FANTASY CONCEPT ROM-COM. Review of the 2023 Hallmark film. #RomCom #Romance #Hallmark #Hallmarkies #MovieReview #MovieReviews #Reviews #Movies #HallmarkMovie Share on XA concept I’ve seen before in TV film peers, Made for Each Other isn’t the most memorable Hallmark I’ve seen yet it’s a fun watch. Despite the genre already kind of having a fantasy angle to begin with, this isn’t a favorite trope. The film is cute and I enjoy some of the scenes, but the main theme anchoring this as a fantasy script isn’t my favorite. What I did enjoy is the cast, all of whom are good.
What I really like is seeing Alexandra Tushen in a Hallmark lead role since she’s a new actress to me. I’ve seen most of the other supporting actors in roles before including O’Connell, who has been in multiple Hallmark films, and there’s also Teryl Rothery; Matty Finochio; and Matt Cohen. There’s also some more unique characteristics like a character doing standup comedy.
If you enjoy Hallmark films, this 2023 premiere is as cute as any others you’ll see. It’ll all just depend on your ranking of favorites and where this one falls. For me, it’s not a favorite I’ve seen recently.
