Chronicle Mysteries: The Wrong Man – Solve A Unique Podcast Mystery!
In the middle installment of Hallmark’s latest mini-series, intrepid podcaster is again on the case. This time, in Chronicle Mysteries: The Wrong Man, it’s to clear the name of the accused. Alex (Alison Sweeney) chases a new case when, after three years, police discover the body of a woman, and the man previously accused of her murder asks for Alex’s help. Or rather, the listening ears of her popular podcast, Recovered. The suspect is the victim’s husband.
Alex begins to dig into the case, and discovers a few too many discrepancies. Splitting her time between the podcast, and her temporary position as a newspaper editor for the Chronicle, Alex discovers that her friend and reporter Drew (Benjamin Ayres) also has a hot new case that he hopes earns the front page.
‘The Wrong Man’ continues on with the characters we meet in the first film with Alex, and her nose for scoping out a good puzzle. This go round, you’ll spy more familiar Hallmark faces including Peter Benson from the Aurora Teagarden mysteries. Needless to say, this channel likes to keep things “in the family,” and it’s always such fun to see all the fan favorites.

When it comes to plot, and story, I like this one better than ‘Recovered.’ The mystery is more engaging, and I enjoy the brief but fun banter between Alex and a local fireman. Alex again seeks clues in pursuit of solving this murder she didn’t anticipate.
Same as can be said of any of their mysteries, if you enjoy playing detective, you’re sure to like the new adventure of Alex’s. Thought this is not a personal favorite, it’s always fun to see Alison (Second Chances, Love on the Air, Murder She Baked) in a new original from Hallmark. Listen in as Alex McPherson begins a new podcast, and piece the puzzle pieces together; this time on the line is a man’s freedom. Join Alex and Drew as they set out to uncover secrets buried long ago.

My favorite Alison Sweeney Hallmark film is The Irresistible Blueberry Farm. Of course, the fact that Marc Blucas is her co-star may also have something to do with that. This one does sound worth watching though.
I haven’t seen that one is SO long. But I remember liking it. A lot. SAME! Mine is also likely because of Marc Blucas; still love him from First Daughter. :D
