‘HOTEL FOR THE HOLIDAYS’: A FREEVEE ROMANCE MOVIE

From 2022, Hotel for the Holidays is a modern story that reminds me, in some ways, of the Disney flick Eloise at Christmastime. It doesn’t have the same charm, but it’s a fun movie that doesn’t ask much of us.

Hotel for the Holidays (2022) Freevee Film Review

A professional at her job as a hotel manager, Georgia (Madelaine Petsch) finds satisfaction in doing a job well. Despite the family atmosphere and the friendships she has, Georgia has an idea for something modern and new. While she has the creative and plans, what she lacks is the capital. Working with her friend Luke (Mena Massoud), who has a secret, is good and seeing to it that her guests enjoy their stay is also good. But this dream remains… and inspires her to find a possible royal solution.

TV FILM REVIEW | ‘A NOT SO ROYAL CHRISTMAS’ IS NOT QUITE THE SAME

‘HOTEL FOR THE HOLIDAYS’: A FREEVEE ROMANCE MOVIE. Review of the 2022 #Freevee #ChristmasMovie. #ChristmasMovies #Romance Share on X

Like anything else you’ll find in a Christmas movie, Hotel for the Holidays is, for lack of any other word, cute. It’s standard in that it’s not unique. The script isn’t dynamic and the romance is lacking. But the characters are quite likable and the various stories that play throughout make this one of those easy to watch seasonal movies that doesn’t require brain power.

The acting is fine and the friendships cute. Plus, you’ll get to see Jamison Belushi (daughter of Jim Belushi) in a role, too. The plot just doesn’t work though because we have no bridge to the “why” of the kiss. There’s also (subtle) connections that are here just to be here and are, as a result, ridiculous. Another one of the silly script elements is seeing how upset her friends become at Georgia.

Irrespective of petty complaints, Hotel for the Holidays is something that will be cute for anyone who enjoys Christmas movies, or is the perfect kind of movie to play while wrapping gifts. There’s several interlocking stories and the possible love stories that blossom during the Christmas season.

Content: There’s nothing terrible or worth mentioning for this PG film. There’s some kissing and connections between same sex couples if that bothers you. But everything, no matter the possible romances, remains very PG.
