BOOKS I HOPE SANTA GIFTS THIS YEAR

Every year we put together a last minute list in a kind of book wish list we hope Santa finds. It may be late in the game for most, but it’s Santa so we know he can find this if he wants.

Like every year for the last three (or more?) years, it’s become hard for us to come up with any kind of ten book wish list.  I think part of this is owing to being selective in what I read, and part is just that I’m not reading much right now. Still, even when I scour the lists and upcoming releases, I just really don’t find a lot that I’m extremely excited about. So all this to say, let’s see what we uncover as books we’d like Santa to bring us this year.

A BOOK WISH LIST for SANTA

A LADY’S GUIDE TO SCANDAL, SOPHIE IRWIN

I own book one, but haven’t read it yet. Still, these do sound like they’d be a good time. Goodreads

THE DEJA GLITCH, HOLLY JAMES

I think I’ve read some good and not-so-good reviews on this one. (It has a 3.62 average on Goodreads, which doesn’t seem bad.) It sounds interesting though, so tell me, have you read it? Goodreads

THE BURNOUT, SOPHIE KINSELLA

I’ve said this before, but I’ve never read a novel by Sophie. Yet still, her books seem like something I’d enjoy. Would I? Goodreads

BELLEGARDE, JAMIE LILAC

This one just sounds fun. I think it’s supposed to be like a YA meets “something” in a similar feel as the super popular Netflix period drama show. Plus it’s a new to me author (and debut, too?). Goodreads

[ALMOST] ANYTHING BY EMMA LORD

I read Tweet Cute, and did think it was fun. Not as dynamic as the plot promises, but fun. Makes me want to give more of Emma’s novels a chance. Which ones do you love? Goodreads

JULIA MONROE BEGINS AGAIN, REBEKAH MILLET

A debut author from a publisher I read often? Sounds like a possible new favorite! Goodreads

HEIDI LUCY LOSES HER MIND, GRACIE RUTH MITCHELL

Haven’t read book one, but they sound cute, so I’m adding book two. Because why not? Goodreads

THE MYSTERY GUEST, NITA PROSE

Is it strange to add this one if I haven’t even read book one yet? Also as an edit to this paragraph, between drafting and publishing this list, I did two things, I a: read the first book (to mixed reactions) and b: added book two to my own shelf. Goodreads

DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING, JESSE Q. SUTANTO

Jesse’s books just always seem like a good time. Goodreads

BRYNN AND SEBASTIAN HATE EACH OTHER, BETHANY TURNER

I’ve said it before, but will again. I read one by Bethany that made me giggle throughout and one I didn’t love as much. So, reading a third seems only right. This one has a fun title, so I’m curious! Goodreads

What books are on your wish list? Do you think any will show up under your tree? Did you have an easy time of making this list? What trends do you hope continues in book publication? Comment all of your thoughts. Let’s talk about all the things.

  1. Oh nice, you’ve got some books on your list I’d love to try. I used to read a lot of Sophie Kinsella but I haven’t kept up with her latest books. The Burnout sounds good! I hope you get some books on your wishlist!

    1. I haven’t read a novel by Sophie but they always LOOK like reads I’d really enjoy. I too hope The Burnout is good and is something that will make me laugh, too! Thanks for visiting!! :)

    1. Oh, no! I know that feeling too, reading something in a review that makes me think the book won’t suit. I don’t tend to read LOTS of reviews, and don’t often read Christian fiction reviews until I read a book. But I will for secular because those are always (for me) more of a wildcard. ;) Hope you had a great Christmas!

  2. I hope you love all the books on your list! I personally loved The Deja Glitch, and it solidified Holly James as a favorite author of mine, and I’m super picky about romance. I haven’t read that specific Sophie Kinsella book, but I read the first book in her Shopaholic series and was so disappointed. The MC never showed any growth or change throughout the entire book. I wouldn’t recommend that book, but hopefully this one is better?

    1. Ugh! That is the worse when a character doesn’t grow or change. I think any good character arc does show that, unless the character is less in need of growth, and they help others change or something. So glad to hear this about Holly’s book. I think I read a review about it that made it sound interesting so I’m hopeful it would be a fun book to read. :)
