THOUGHTS
While I respect that Taylor matures (as she should) and so will her art, strictly by the looks of this album, I don’t see this being a favorite. Like always I know I’ll find songs I like, but collectively I don’t see this being an album I rank highly. I think there’s a difference between maturing and doing something “just because” you’re a certain age. Swift, when making the announcement, says she kept this a secret for two years.
Regardless of these thoughts, Taylor Swift is the only artist I consistently listen to in terms of paying attention to the new albums she releases, and keeping in that tradition, I know I’ll continue with this album too. taylor swift’s the tortured poets department
PS; I don’t know about anyone else, but today, in the aftermath of this announcement, I find all of the theories and such crazy! I barely see any of the look-what-this-could-mean or what the April release date meant in history, and even at the twenty (or so) tweets I do see, I’m exhausted. Like, how does anyone find the attention span to do this? When did music stop being music and just for enjoyment or for us to find personal meaning in?? Like, let me just anticipate the songs and enjoy them!
Over to you now, what are you hoping to discover in The Tortured Poets Department? Are you excited about this album? How do feel about the look of the album? Will you pick it up on April 19? Comment all of the thoughts below. Let’s converse.

We don’t know much but I’m loving it, the B&W aesthetics, the title of the album and the songs, I love these vibes, So so excited for april
I don’t love the album based on the teasers BUT as Taylor Swift is the only artist I follow and always listen to her new stuff, I know I’ll end up enjoying some of the songs. That’s ALWAYS the result. ;)
