IT’S A BOOK LIST, JUST SAY YES: TAYLOR SWIFT BOOK TITLES

by

Taylor Swift, as we all know, is kind of a cultural phenomenon right now. She’s everywhere no matter where we look. From new album titles to speculation, romances to breakups, we see her name associated with pretty much everything. This is why I thought I’d find novels from my shelf that with Taylor Swift book titles.

IT’S A BOOK LIST, JUST SAY YES: TAYLOR SWIFT BOOK TITLES. Looking at book titles that (mostly) fit #TaylorSwift songs… because why not? #TSwift #Lyrics #BookList #TopTen #TopTenList #TopTenTueday Click To Tweet

I saw this Instagram post a while ago that also posted up a bunch of books with Taylor Swift inspired book titles and thought it was fun. Naturally, putting something together here also did indeed seem like a good idea, so inspired by that, we’re also going to look for books that are Taylor Swift appropriate. Though I’d be fibbing if I didn’t say that the speculation and supposed “blame” being put on her exes annoys me. But back on topic. I’m not sure how many we’ll find from our bookshelf, but we’re kind of determined to find enough to be a solid list so that’s what we’re going to attempt. Let’s make a start.

INSPIRED by TAYLOR SWIFT BOOK TITLES

BAD BLOOD, JENNIFER LYNN BARNES

Not an era I love from Swift (the dark songs), this is a series I’ve been curious about for a long time! Have you read any from The Naturals quartet? Goodreads

THE ONE, KIERA CASS

Technically Taylor’s song is titled ‘The 1,’ numerical spelling, but I’m making this fit regardless. Goodreads

YOU BELONG WITH ME, TARI FARIS

Read this one years ago, and based on the title, this contemporary is Taylor Swift fitting. Goodreads

CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT, BRIGID KEMMERER

This is a title of a Swift song, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen this book, on a list or on my shelf, and not thought of the song, though this could be because I adore this song. Goodreads

BEGIN AGAIN, EMMA LORD

This one is perfectly because its title is actually a Taylor Swift song. Goodreads

TIMELESS, MICHELLE MADOW

Inspired by the Taylor Swift song ‘Love Story,’ this series is a great fit because of that, plus this third novel is a song title before we knew ‘Timeless’ was a song from Swift. Goodreads

DEAR READER, MARY O’CONNELL

Described as Gilmore Girls meets Wuthering Heights, this one sounds really interesting. Goodreads

THE LUCKY ONE, NICHOLAS SPARKS

A song that doesn’t get much attention, emotional and perhaps one of her most honest. It may not have any similarities to this Sparks novel, but so what. It’s all about matching titles. Goodreads

BORROW MY HEART, KASIE WEST

Technically the lyric is ‘my heart’s been borrowed,’ but this title still feels fitting for a Taylor Swift song even if not this specific one. Plus, we all know we love a good Kasie West novel. Goodreads

TIME OF OUR LIVES, EMILY WIBBERLEY and AUSTIN SIEGEMUND-BROKA

This one isn’t a Taylor Swift title or song in a script sense, but its title feels like it’d live in her song ‘Long Live.’ Goodreads

Have you read any of these? Would you? Which ones do you think would be worth reading? How about this, do any fit with the song? Comment all of your thoughts. Let’s talk.

  1. I have not listened to Taylor’s music, so I wouldn’t have the foggiest idea of where to start on this list. I am sure I have heard some of her music over the years, but nothing currently springs to mind. I think it was a great idea, and I am sure you implemented it well ;) I hope you are having a good week.

    1. Thanks, Cindy! I hope you have a great week too! And sometimes I hear her songs pop on when walking through the grocery store, so given she’s everywhere, this felt like a fun idea. :)

    1. That IS a lot. I don’t know if I’ve read a book that references her THAT much, but that moves past being “fun” into a little extreme ya know. ;)

  2. A great list. I have to say that I don’t know much about Taylor Swift apart from everyone likes her and she has a lot of relationships. I couldn’t name any of her songs and wouldn’t know if a song came on the radio that it was her 😶 I am very much aware that I am in the minority 😶

    Have a great week!

    1. And there is nothing wrong with that, Emily. :) I like Taylor’s songs (many of them) and do buy her new albums plus write about them, but I don’t “obsess” over her life or the clues that most fans do. I find that mentality, no matter the popular celeb, to be a bit “too much.” ;)

    1. Nothing wrong with that, Susan! I totally get it too. I don’t love all of her songs, but do always buy her new albums, find some songs I love to
play on repeat, and write about her new albums. I don’t get all the interest in the clues about her songs and the conspiracies about trying to cipher which song is about which ex or the sheer obsession with her life in general (and the refusal of fans to see anything she does as possibly problematic, meaning it’s always the exes or the friends fault). I’m just someone who wants to listen to her new music, like what I like and then move on. ;)

  3. Awesome topic idea! I love how creative you are with your prompt, and although I’m not really familiar with Taylor Swift song, I’m impressed with how many of her song titles fit with book names. Also, I read one that I know was a song name, and it was fantastic and definitely fit the theme, so I highly recommend it. It’s called We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales.

    1. I think I’ve heard of that book by Sophie, Leah. It is a fun title and song, so it’s one I’ll have to read about, too. :) Thanks for the reminder!
