8 REASONS WE STILL LOVE ‘MEAN GIRLS.’ Looking at all the reasons we enjoy #MeanGirls with #LindsayLohan. #Comedies #Comedy Share on XThe film, which we probably all are well versed in, follows Cady Heron, a sheltered girl who has never gone to high school. She’s homeschooled because she lived in Africa with her family. Only now she’s getting a crash course in what life outside her familiar world is like. This includes “The Plastics,” the ruling class of queen bees in her new high school, and of course, there’s a cute guy, too…
A favorite of many, this teen dramedy is something that still features on streaming front pages and is easily quoted in the world of movie trivia.
8 REASONS WE LOVE MEAN GIRLS
CADY
The character of Cady is unsure sometimes, yes, but I think she has gumption where no one gives her credit, and though she’s the laughing stock because of it, I think her life experience school is in the pro category.
CAST
Looking back on this now, it’s fun to see stars of today, like Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried in this, an early role.
COMEDY
We do love a good comedy and this one has some wit and funny one-liners.
KAREN
Before there was the cultural phrase that was “don’t be a Karen,” which doesn’t have anything to do with this flick, we loved Amanda Seyfried’s Karen. She’s just a fun character who is a little ditzy, sure, but also someone we like.
8 REASONS WE STILL LOVE ‘MEAN GIRLS.’ #LindsayLohan starred in #MeanGrils 20 years ago so we're looking at a few reasons why we love it still. #Comedy #Comedies #Romance Share on XLINDSAY LOHAN
Lindsay Lohan may not be considered the best actress, but she does play this type of role quite well.
THE MEET CUTE
I mean we do love a cute first meeting, right? This one isn’t dynamic, but I consider the whole “on October third” date quote to be their meet cute.
PINK on WEDNESDAYS
Pink was cool because of Mean Girls before there was the Barbie film. In a world where pink is considered a “stereotype” to shun, the Plastics did make it cool.
QUOTABLE
You cannot tell me you don’t love how silly and comedic this is in combination with the quotable script. The whole Get in, loser quote is still famous.
