‘DATING THE DELANEYS’ IS AN UNEXPECTED ROMANCE STORY

A family romantic comedy that gives a connection to more than one member of a family, Dating the Delaneys is cute.

Dating the Delaneys (2022) Hallmark TV Film Review

A single mom with a busy life including trying to convince her daughter (with research!) that breakfast is the vital part of her day, Maggie (Rachel Boston) runs her own bakery with the idea that “fun” is reorganizing her refrigerator. It’s all these things that keep her busy where there isn’t any time for dating. Even when she finds she has a connection with Michael Taylor (Paul Campbell), the father of her teenage son’s friend.

Though I’m not among the popular fan love for some of the cast. Despite this, I did find Dating the Delaneys to be a cute movie. The direction the film goes is nice because it begins with familiarity and transitions into a kind of more casual relationship. While usually I find that annoying, in the case of this film, it does work and is cute because there aren’t expectations. At least not at first.

“It’s Friday night, why are we conversating?”

The supporting characters are fun too, including Maggie’s business partner, Devin. If you like multiple romance stories, this one might be a good fit for you. There is an obvious primary romance, but still, there’s hints of others, and it’s all fun and sweet and entertaining.

Dating the Delaneys is yet another title sure to make us smile.
