‘THREE WISER MEN and a BOY’ REVISTS FAVORITE LOVEABLE FAMILY
Following up one of their most popular (of recent years) premieres, Hallmark debuts Three Wiser Men and a Boy with more shenanigans sure to make you giggle.
Three Wiser Men and a Boy (2024) Hallmark TV Film Review
Keeping busy with raising a rambunctious boy is all a normal part of the life for Luke Brenner (Andrew Walker). But he also feels lost and as if he’s no longer relevant. He and his wife Sophie (Nicole Major) are raising Thomas to be a good person, all of which they do with the help of the entire Brenner family. Things are kind of going, well, badly for their family life and routines. Then mom Barbara (Margaret Colin) introduces a new boyfriend to the mix.
This upsets everything even more as does the threat of cancellation for Thomas’ play. Since two of the three brothers manages to wreck the school play, this means Luke steps in to direct the play. A task that he also recruits his brothers Taylor (Tyler Hynes) and Stephen (Paul Campbell) to help with!

‘THREE WISER MEN and a BOY’ REVISTS FAVORITE LOVEABLE FAMILY. Review of the #ChristmasMovie sequel with #AndrewWalker, #TylerHynes, and #PaulCampbell. Share on XBack in 2022, Hallmark introduced us to the Brenner brothers in Three Wise Men and a Baby in a story that anyone can liken to the 80s comedy Three Men and a Baby. It was a big favorite for the network, likely in great part because of it featuring not just one or two favorite stars, but about five of them. The three men are all favorites, and then you also see, one of whom returns here too, Kimberley Sustad (albeit not in a prominent role) and Ali Liebert too. You’ll also see Erin Karpluk in this sequel, Three Wiser Men and a Boy.
Funny and enjoyable, this will be another win with fans of the first film. I think it plays with some of the assumptions fans have about actors, and puts out some silly scenes sure to make us laugh. Some of the effects of use of framing are exaggerated and silly, but at the same time, it’s also fitting for a story about three brothers who like to argue, but also get along. The banter between Hynes and Karpluk is fun, especially so since women are mostly absent (outside of the Brenner matriarch). Three Wiser Men and a Boy is good fun, and is easily recommendable if you enjoy the first movie.
Also, as a side note, while not reliant on seeing the prequel, I would advise everyone watch it first.

Content: nothing to note in this one. It’s the same type of TVG content from any other Christmas film and the first Three Wise Men and a Baby.
