‘UNSTOPPABLE’ IS A STORY INSPIRED BY REAL LIFE
One of their films to receive a good deal of promotion, Unstoppable is a surprisingly good story that probably did deserve the hype.
Unstoppable (2025) Film Review
Overcoming challenges is the only kind of life Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome) knows. He’s never known “normal,” and living without a leg is a challenge he was born with. His passion is wrestling and in pursuit of this, he wins a championship in his senior year of high school. Wanting to get into Iowa and wrestle for their program is his only dream, but when his stepfather (Bobby Cannavale) leaves their family, Anthony realizes he cannot leave. He has to stay in Arizona for his siblings and mother, Judy (Jennifer Lopez), the woman who has always been supportive of his dreams…
FILM REVIEW | ‘BANK OF DAVE’ IS A FEEL GOOD MOVIE YOU MAYBE HAVEN’T SEEN
‘UNSTOPPABLE’ IS A STORY INSPIRED BY REAL LIFE. #JenniferLopez co-stars in #Unstoppable, an #AmazonMGM film. #PrimeVideo Share on XUnstoppable is a film that doesn’t seem to have dynamic user ratings but is a title I think is really good. Based on the little I read, its script takes more than one creative license in order to tell its story, but the basic principle of someone excelling in a sport he normally wouldn’t, well that alone inspires. While the film may over dramatize things, the story is still compelling and interesting and the cast, really good.
I haven’t seen Jerome in anything, but he plays this role well. He gives the role plenty of emotion and sympathy for what he feels towards his family, but also inspiration too. Of course, like we expect from her, Jennifer Lopez is good. We may tend to think of her mostly from some of her famous rom-com roles, but probably forget she does gritty too. I admire her character’s arc and while Anthony’s is admirable and nothing to scoff at, I think hers is just as inspirational because she had to teach herself to “deal” and handle things whereas Anthony’s handicap is something he didn’t ever not know.
A drama that’s good and interesting, Unstoppable is worth watching. Especially if you like sports movies or just stories that have an inspiring background. There’s lots of good messages and better still, good characters to root on, which means it’s a story that inspires in a good way.

Content: There is a use of the F-word and less profanities like sh*t. A crude putdown or joke crops up once or twice. There is an implication that someone is physically abusive, though mostly we hear (rather than see) a lot of yelling. There are several scenes of wrestling if you don’t like sports. The film is PG-13.
