Working in daytime television as a head TV writer, Maggie Coleman (Jen Lilley) is quite unprepared for what is coming next in her career. The ratings for her show are drastically dropping and without drastic changes, things will end, permanently. This means the executives have a demand. Bring back fan favorite Darin Mitchell (Ryan Paevey) the man who played a detective on the show. He was killed off, but still, no one on TV is ever really dead, are they?

This film is set in a world I have zero interest in and with exception to an Australian soap drama, I don’t watch daytime TV. Irrespective of this, I did also find the setting interesting. The behind the scenes of the world is fun and we get to kind of see a “meta” version of filming not just a TV show, but a TV film. Jen Lilley and Ryan Paevey are two favorites so it’s fun seeing them together in this kind of soapy concept that plays up the drama, as it has a right to.
Romantic and cute, silly and (appropriately) dramatic, I will fully admit, I underestimated this film. The story moves at a fast clip and I love the reunion between the two main characters. The long and short of this film is this; I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It’s a title I didn’t anticipate enjoying but do. I think most of this is thanks to the cast, which helps the film sparkle.
