‘UNEASY STREET’ ROUNDS OUT ONE CHARMING CONTEMPORARY TRIO
STORY: Sloane and Max are both smart and driven, and business minded. They were also once best friends and in college, they put together a business plan and built an app. Now, four years later the pair come face-to-face again after a fallout. They didn’t part well or really at all and so when Max learns Sloane is returning to his hometown to stay with her niece, he relishes seeing her again.
Sloane isn’t happy to see him. Max needs closure and the “why.”

REVIEW: A three-book series that is tied together by scandal, Uneasy Street is in the final in this contemporary set of novels by author Becky Wade. This one is about the character who, through no fault of his own, was the undoing of the Camden family. All grown up now, Max is a hero in his own story that is all about a reunion romance. I like Max and Sloane and am happy to have spent this time with them inside these pages.
The big thing that drives this novel is the irritation these two have with each other. While I understand both perspectives, I do feel like the annoyance of one character has more merit than the other. Time is a great healer and helper in this novel and of course, we see a nice redemption for them. I do understand why one character did what they did (not that I agree with it ultimately), and while all of this may sound silly and doesn’t make sense, I don’t want to tiptoe into spoilers!

Fighting eventually turns to understanding which turns to love, and of course, we root these two on no matter which we think is right. Sloane has spunk, deep wounds and is smart. Max has his share of wounds but has a unique strength and is also smart. They’re a great example of a couple stronger together than fighting.
If you’ve read this series or like Becky’s novels, or you just enjoy contemporaries, well then, I think this book is highly recommendable. Despite it’s title, this is an easy to read and easy to enjoy story.
