Fountain of Youth (2025) Apple TV+ Film Review

Estrangement is something Charlotte Purdue (Natalie Portman) knows well. She has lived with its effects these many years, specifically when it comes to her brother, Luke (John Krasinski). The pair haven’t been close for a long time now but when her treasure obsessed brother shows up at her museum job, her life implodes.

Not only does Luke steal one of her paintings, but he also threatens her custody case and loses her job. Now, Charlotte is drawn into the hunt Luke and their father’s old team are working on, to find the legendary Fountain of Youth. Together they embark on an epic quest of adventure… and possible danger!

This isn’t the first time Apple TV+ has released a kind of “big,” epic and glossy type production. The action-adventure movie genre is one that seems to do well, and it is not hard to see why. This subgenre often produces crowd pleasers and fun stories. This film, following in the footsteps of things like The Lost City or Apple TV+s own Ghosted, is another film that knows how to please its audience. Watching this further convinces no one does adventure quite as well as Guy Ritchie. He knows how to create pockets of adventure and keep us invested. This film is no different.

Part of what makes this one so good is the cast. It’s impressive. Not only is it great to see Krasinski in something again, but seeing Natalie Portman is nice and we get to see Stanley Tucci, too. All in all, everyone is good and I like when we see “range” from actors. Both lead stars have proven their talent in darker and deeper roles, but then also show that they know how to have fun and be chill in something like this. It’s all fabulous.

Some may not enjoy this because of the kind of mystical elements it plays with. Honestly, this doesn’t bother me. I enjoy movies that take us on an adventure and use some fun humor while doing so. Fountain of Youth knows how to do this all well. Between the fun cast, cool settings and adventure aspects, this one is nothing if not a really good time.

Content: nothing much to note. This one is a pretty typical PG-13 film. It has some innuendo (a couple tease about having sex or chemistry). There is lots of adventure violence. Weapons (knives and guns) play into the plot. There are some tense scenes as a result of this.
