GET LOST IN ITALY WITH ‘VILLA AMORE’

From Barcelona to Italy, grab your passports and visit the beautiful countryside in Villa Amore, a film that isn’t fresh, but is still lovely.

Villa Amore (2025) TV Film Review

An adventure is just what Liara (Eloise Mumford) needs just as she looses all of the happy future plans she has. Despite the heartbreak, she still takes a planned Italian trip, and decides she wants to learn more about the love story her parents had. It’s one that began in Italy, and so, she decides to make a big purchase in pursuit of this. Quite on impulse she buys the villa where they met.

This new purchase brings with it a list of challenges and unexpected planning she isn’t quite prepared to handle. On hand to possibly help her is a handyman Leo (Kevin McGarry), a man who may have more insight into how to help Liara, some of which she may not expect to need.

This is a story that has been done many times before. From streaming platforms to even Hallmark, we’ve seen the cute trope of renovation and pretty locations like villas before. It’s nice to see Eloise Mumford in a Hallmark film again and of course, frequent viewers of this network will love seeing Kevin McGarry in this, one of the lead stars from When Calls the Heart. What’s nice about Eloise’s Liara and Kevin’s Leo is, they both feel like a real and flawed person we can relate to.

Also an impossible to ignore pro is the scenery. Where this films, I do not know, but whether on location or somewhere that is pretending to be Italian, the scenic look is pretty. There are all kinds of sun kissed days and of course, lots of typical props (from bikes to bread) that help set the scene. Director Clare Niederpruem is also known for other travel romcoms including Savoring Paris and A Pinch in Portugal. Additionally fun to see is that Joanna Garcia Swisher (from Sweet Magnolias) has her name here as a producer, too.

If you enjoy other titles similar to this, well, Villa Amore is lovely.

Stream, at publication, Villa Amore (next day) on Hallmark+

Content: nothing to note in this usual TV-G film. There is some kissing, but nothing else.
