REVIEW: Only a few pages into this book and I “knew” how this story would end, and reader, I was right. This book is kind of weird because, as other reviewers have said, it changes one character pretty noticeably. Obviously, one doesn’t know “why” author Jenny Han did this, however if I had to guess, villainizing one character made the ending “work,” which is what the author needed in order for readers to accept? Be happy? Understand? No matter what, I think we were kind of manipulated into believing in the ending and that’s perhaps something most readers don’t care for. we’ll always have summer book review
‘WE’LL ALWAYS HAVE SUMMER’ BOOK REVIEW: THE LOVE STORY CLOSES. Review of the #JennyHan novel that closes it all. #TSITP #TheSummerITurnedPretty Share on XTV SHOW REVIEW | ‘THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY,’ SEASON THREE IS BEGINNING OF ONE LAST YEAR

I will say the one event that angers readers (just from cursory reading) didn’t have that effect on me, but I do think the author copped out with the villain thing so that the ending she had planned for would “make sense.” For me, this book was a little boring (probably in part because it’s a very “young” read) because I instinctively knew how it’d all end. The book does get one thing right though which is not to have Belly “be” with anyone. I think that lessens the “weird” factor compared to the show. I also think that we’ve read (and seen) quite enough brother love triangles to last a lifetime.
If you are watching the show on Prime Video, read the final novel in this trilogy or read it all. It does add some context though I think overall the show adapts this story really well in a novel that brings to a close this much loved summer romance.

We’ll Always Have Summer Book Review Content: the book has some adult content that shouldn’t rate more than the PG-13 content of the Prime Video show. Early on, a brief “one-night” stand/fling is revealed that causes problems with a relationship. Someone thinks about being a virgin and what impact this has on their relationship.
