Season three (aka the final season) of Amazon MGM Studios The Summer I Turned Pretty begins the end of its magical summers.

The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season Three (2025) TV Review

Happy and content is the state of mind of Isabel aka Belly Conklin (Lola Tung). She’s entering her first year of college, has the best of friends, is working on a better relationship with her mother and she has Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). The boy who has loved her for many years now, Jeremiah is the same boy who had to watch Belly fall in love with his brother Conrad, the boy who rarely seemed to care about Belly. Then everything changed, and Belly saw in Jeremiah what he has also seen in her.

It’s now three years later, and they’ve been happy and are happy… and then a secret comes out. Now their lives are in turmoil. And then a memory of a special time with Conrad (Christopher Briney) crops up and questions again rise…

Who does Belly truly love?

An extremely popular original series for Prime Video, The Summer I Turned Pretty season three is the final season for the story. It’s inspired by the novels (of the same name) by Jenny Han. A series of books that have three titles. So, limiting this show to three is wise. Although, reading at some point that some type of inspired spin off is coming also won’t surprise me in the least. Until then, I’m so glad this production team understands the importance of “all good things” and choose to concisely tell its story.

This show ages up its characters some which also seems wise. This said, I’m at a point in my life when I’m over the drama and back and forth that fiction loves. I want a hero or heroine who knows and chooses the person they love rather than shifting opinions every time the third person crops up or says something to melt hearts. If there is one trap The Summer I Turned Pretty season three (and every season) falls into, it’s this. I’m practicing patience watching this though and do find some sweet things going on with this story.

Writer Jenny Han hasn’t released anything for several years, but she certainly isn’t idle. She serves as co-showrunner and even has writing and producing credits, too. She’s also been quoted as saying that fans shouldn’t expect all the same happenings. I know that people will hate on one character for something said character does, but I also think another character believing this person would never hurt this is unfair. Time will tell what I think of this final season though there are only two episodes of the 11 available now. But I’m curious. I think the show, like its predecessors, will adapt the novel relatively well. So, yes, I’m curious. I’m just not sure how everything will play out. All I do know is, I want happy endings for my favorite characters.

Stream exclusively with Prime Video (episodes one – two, with weekly episode drops on Wednesdays); stream seasons one – two in full now on Prime Video

Content: the series is TV-14. Most of the content (based on this first impression) is on par with the prior seasons. In the first episode, we see couples in bed together making out and talking. (One of these couple’s we learn are having an affair behind the backs of their respective others.) There is profanity including the f-word.

  1. My sister and I have both when wanting to see this movie. It sounds so cute and I can relate to it. I had spent a summer away with my cousin who was a freshman in college. She spent time showing me how to do my make-up and hair. Plus, we sewed cute clothes all summer. My life truly did change.
