‘DOUBLE SCOOP’: ONE IDEAL AND CUTE SUMMER ROMANCE
Understanding that there is no more perfect way to celebrate the summertime than a rom-com that features ice cream, Double Scoop understands the assignment. It also brings back two familiar stars we haven’t seen on Hallmark in a while.
Double Scoop (2025) Hallmark TV Film Review
Discovering a new ice cream that easily earns the marketing tag of being the “best” leaves Nora (Taylor Cole) energized. Discovering this find leaves her ready to land them as a client for the ad agency she works for. She convinces her boss that she can land this artisan creamery, and she sets out to make it happen.
But she then finds herself in a competition with James (Ryan McPartlin), a former colleague with whom she has competed before. This puts a wrinkle in her plan, but nothing will deter her… right?

‘DOUBLE SCOOP’: ONE IDEAL AND CUTE SUMMER ROMANCE. Review of the 2025 #Hallmark flick. #DoubleScoop #TaylorCole Share on X
When it comes to any of the Hallmark Channel films that don’t have a “Christmas” tag attached, well, I think they can be or are just as fun as any of the festive flicks everyone goes nuts for. I’m also all for movies like this to last longer during the movie of the week run. Double Scoop is cute and fun, and very summer-y because of the ice scream plot. The scenes and “look” of the production leans unabashedly into the summertime.
It’s also nice to see Ryan McPartlin return to Hallmark. While he isn’t a newcomer to this genre or network, he doesn’t feature quite as often (or I just don’t see all of his movies) so it feels like he’s more of a “new face” than one we see repeatedly. Taylor Cole has a fair number of Hallmark titles to her credit too. They’re both good in this and you’ll see countless familiar faces including the A Boyfriend for Christmas leading man Patrick Muldoon. So yeah, this one is ideally very Hallmark.
If you like the enemies to friends (and more!) trope, well then, Double Scoop is quite cute.
