Miss Scarlet, Series Six (2025) Masterpiece PBS TV Review
Life for Miss Eliza Scarlet (Kate Phillips) has never been better professionally. Her business is finally her own and she is earning a reputation despite also now having to deal with a slow period. Still, she has worked hard to build this, and things are going well. Her personal life is another thing entirely, but it too is a happy one. Her past is one that hasn’t taught her much about love, and yet, she finds herself drawn to Alexander Blake (Tom Durant Pritchard). A widowed father raising a daughter Eliza deeply relates to, he’s an inspector who respects Eliza’s mind and talent.
The latest police investigation puts a psychiatric patient on the streets where a murder with an unidentified body leads to this violent suspect roaming the streets. Looking for more insight, Blake convinces a reluctant Eliza to join him on this puzzling case.

Running for over half a decade now, Miss Scarlet is a series that has for many of its fans become a Victorian favorite. While thoroughly entertaining, it’s been a show that I’ve admittedly struggled with one hundred percent loving. This is because of Eliza. Fortunately, through the years, the writing has done some good work humbling its heroine which I appreciate. This is also a show that underwent a kind of rebrand, dropping half of its title and replacing the male co-lead. For the most part, even missing the bond of Eliza and the childhood friend who had unrequited love for her, the show still succeeds.
TV SHOW REVIEW | ‘THE HARDACRES’ IS PERIOD DRAMA NOW IN THE U.S.
The new group of episodes kicks off a dark new mystery in a group of episodes that, I am sure, will present its loyal fans with another set of proper mysteries. We also see the return of a beloved character which is certain to make people happy. If you liked the first five seasons, Miss Scarlet series six will entertain. The costuming is stunning, and this feels like one of the rare shows that, more than not, works to be authentic to its period. That alone is something I appreciate. In a world of modern (sometimes annoyingly so) period productions, finding one that stays in its lane is a big thing.

Full of gloriously gothic mystery and engaging characters that the writers are beautifully challenging, all there is to say is I’m still fully invested in seeing what’s next for Miss Scarlet.
Stream, at publication with the PBS app or find on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video add on; the show will debut on PBS January 11, and will air on Sundays through February 15, 2026

Content: there is some threats and violence. Danger finds everyone usually and sometimes includes threats with weapons. The show is pretty much the same content as prior seasons.

Sincere thanks to Masterpiece PBS for the chance to view a screener of this; all opinions are my own and I received no compensation.

Miss Scarlet sounds like a series I would enjoy watching. Rissi, Thank you for sharing.
If you see it, I hope you enjoy, Caryl!
My Mom, Grace and I have quite enjoyed watching this show!
I’m so glad! It’s a good one. :)
I enjoyed her chemistry with the Duke so I haven’t seen this new season yet. I should jump right back in.
I did too and I MISS his character quite a lot. But I do like Blake. :)
I plan to watch this latest season when my daughter and I have finished our current binge watch. I am going to miss the Duke though so it will be interesting to see if it still has the same appeal.
I hope you like this one even with the changes, Shelleyrae! I do really like Alexander and am always curious to know what others think so do let me know if you see it. :)
