Next in their 2026 Winter Escape block, Hallmark airs Love on the Amazon.

Needing to speak with her sister, who is studying dolphins in her work as a biologist, about the grant she has Claire (Jaicy Elliot) has to find a way to make it through the Amazon River. To accomplish this, she hires a reluctant riverboat captain named Danny (Rafael de la Fuente) in order to get her safely to her destination.
Even with an experienced captain guiding her, the pair find a few ups and downs on their journey, and they discover one or two other unexpected things too.

Share on XMovie three (of five) from Hallmark’s latest program block, it’s another one that travels and gives us a bit of escape from the winter cold and for many of us, the blues that come with this season. As a broad statement, I will say this isn’t my favorite (so far) which I attribute to the setting. Though it’s been a while, Jaicy Elliot is a leading lady familiar to Hallmark and in 2022, she starred in one of their higher rated or fan favorite titles Romance in Style.
This film takes us on a kind of adventure and for the most part, it’s quite a bit of fun. The plot about getting to her sister may be the primary that kind of overtakes things, but there is of course a kind of slowness in the romance that builds between Claire and Danny.
If you like any of the other Winter Escape titles to make their mark in this 2026 block, well Love on the Amazon is also another charmer. There is some pretty scenery (though this is one movie set in a place I probably won’t ever want to visit!), and the cast is good, too, which makes everything work even better.
