‘A MELBOURNE MATCH’ IS ONE CUTE ARMCHAIR ROMANCE
The next in the Winter Escape 2026 block, Mallory Jansen features in A Melbourne Match, a title in which she serves in several roles.
A Melbourne Match (2026) Hallmark TV Film Review
Escaping for a little bit is something Georgie (Jansen) does often. For some, escape isn’t an option, for her, it’s part of her job. She’s a professional who writes for a travel publication, and her new assignment sends her to Australia. Getting out of the city and into some sunshine makes her happy (as does her assignment), and further exciting her is the chance to see Australia.
While on this job, Georgie meets Zach (Ryan Corr), an ex athlete who serves as her guide in his country. He also teaches Georgie the importance of letting go of time.

What once was a block of wintery titles that would begin the New Year on Hallmark has now become movies that travel, often to sunnier climates. It’s a strategy that makes sense after the many Christmas (which are all set in winter) movies that viewers just saw. For this reason, I do think that this type of program block is a smart move.

Like last week’s Lost in Paradise, this title offers plenty of sunshine. It sees its leading lady serving as producer and writer of A Melbourne Match. Based off social media, this is a film she was thrilled to have Hallmark along as a partner and just glad to see a story she dreamed up being brought to life. As a fan of Mallory (who I know primarily though her roles here), it’s fun to know this is her story produced. What’s even more fun is seeing Ryan Corr in this, an actor who plays an insanely likeable character in the indie period drama Ladies in Black.
If you like the other films in this block or just Hallmark in general, the same conclusion is here. This one is again fun (the story is actually really good), and if you like some lighthearted romance and sweet storytelling, then seeing A Melbourne Match is something you’ll quite enjoy.
Stream, at publication, this title next-day exclusively on Hallmark+

Content: this is the typical TV-G Hallmark fare. There is, again as usual, kissing, and some banter all in a very family friendly kind of way.
