MALLORY JANSEN (‘GALAVANT’) HALLMARK MOVIES AND WHERE TO WATCH THEM!

Back with another ‘Hallstar’ title list. This time Mallory Jansen is the one in the spotlight. This is because, of course, her latest Hallmark title is debuting tonight. Her debut on the network came in 2020 with On the 12th Date of Christmas, which was one of my favorites from that year. So since she has a new title set to drop, let’s look at the Hallmark movies where Mallory Jansen, also known for other TV roles, features.

Jansen got her star guesting in small roles before she booked a six episode run in the ABC Family (now Freeform) comedy Young and Hungry. A five episode run on Baby Daddy followed and then she appeared on the more popular and short-lived, but beloved, Galavant from ABC. More TV arcs followed which leads us to, like we said, 2020 and her debut on Hallmark. Scroll on to find out what she’s starred in and where to see them all!

ON the 12TH DATE of CHRISTMAS, 2020

From its debut year, this was actually one of my most favorite films. It had Niall Matter as Jansen’s co-star and she was actually one of my favorite new leading ladies in the new lineup of network stars. The concept was fun and I loved how much fun not only the characters have, but us too as we follow these two on their themed scavenger hunt.

HER PEN PAL, 2021

This one as I remember is sweet and reunites Galavant co-stars Mallory and Joshua Sasse. It’s also got a Paris setting too which means all of the usual prettiness is involved. A pen pal plot also factors in.

Synopsis: Event planner Victoria can’t wait to attend, and plan, her best friend’s Paris wedding. But when she finds out that her ex is bringing a date, she reconnects with her French childhood pen pal. – Hallmark+

FRANCESCA QUINN, PI, 2022

Despite only one of these being produced I did really like this mystery and found the PI angle lots of fun. Oddly, though I’m not always a fan of the whole tension angle (I forgive it in many movies) between a couple, I do like the connection between these two.

Synopsis: Private investigator Francesca “Frankie” Quinn is hired to find her fiancée’s killer. She must work with her detective ex, Wyn, and trust the person who broke them up and ruined their lives. – Hallmark+

PAGING MR. DARCY, 2024

Part of the Jane Austen collection Hallmark produced, this one has a Mr. Darcy-esque hero (obviously) and has Mallory playing a more serious counterbalance to the rigid hero of Hallmark’s version of a Darcy lead.

Synopsis: When an overly serious scholar attends a Jane Austen annual conference, she strikes a deal with the man playing Mr. Darcy and finds her perspective, and her heart, changed. – Hallmark+

ALL I NEED for CHRISTMAS, 2024

Synopsis: Looking for inspiration, singer songwriter Maggie travels home and finds a spark with app developer Archer who’s trying to repair his relationship with his sister. – Hallmark+

THE ROYAL WE, 2025

This was one of Hallmark’s most popular titles, even including the Christmas titles, of 2025 and it is quite cute. It follows Bea (Jansen) as she must adjust to now being the princess who has to take over royal duties.

Synopsis: When her older sister elopes with a non-royal, Princess Bea who has lived her life away from her royal duties must now step in and honor the arranged marriage to a small kingdom prince. – Hallmark+

A MELBOURNE ROMANCE, 2026

Jansen also serves in behind-the-scenes roles of this one as writer and I think EP, too. She plays Georgie, a travel writer who goes to Australia for a story and once there, she of course meets a handsome guide. I also love that I’ll be seeing Ryan Corr as leading man in this after loving him in Ladies In Black.

Synopsis: Georgie, a travel writer, travels to Melbourne for an assignment where she meets Zach, an ex-Australian footballer who agrees to be her tour guide and shows her that there’s more to life than work. – Hallmark Medi

OTHER NON-HALLMARK ROLES

YOUNG & HUNGRY, 2014

In this show, which was adorable, Jansen plays the girlfriend (in the first of five seasons) of the leading man, Josh. She had a six-episode arc spanning from the first until the tenth.

BABY DADDY, 2014 – 2015

I’ve seen all of these and enjoyed this hilarious six season ABC Family (now Freeform) comedy, but don’t remember Jansen specifically. She had a four-episode arc appearance and then is credited in a fifth episode, but only her voice. A little searching says she plays a sister of character and that leading man Ben tries to “win her over.”

Synopsis: A young man becomes a surprise dad when a baby is left on his doorstep by an ex-girlfriend. He raises the baby with the help of his mother, his brother Danny, his buddy Tucker and his close female friend, Riley, who harbors a secret crush on him. – Prime Video

GALAVANT, 2015 – 2016

Playing Queen Madalena in this musical comedy, this one aired on ABC and even in its limited run, it was a favorite for viewers. It’s a kind of comedic version that is sort of Arthurian complete with courts and kings and such.

Synopsis: Galavant is a musical comedy fairytale of epic proportions. Dashing Galavant lost the love of his life to the evil King Richard. Now, our fallen hero is ready to take reclaim his “happily ever after.” – Prime Video

AGENTS of S.H.I.E.L.D., 2016 – 2017

A Marvel drama show that aired on ABC, this one centered on Phil Coulson played by Clark Gregg, a character who did appear in a few of the feature Marvel titles. Mallory played a character named Aida over nineteen episodes.

THE BIG LEAP, 2021

Synopsis: A drama about a diverse group of people chasing their dreams by participating in a reality show. – Hallmark+

Jansen also appeared in guest appearance roles in the cute Australian murder mystery Mr. and Mrs. Murder (2013); in 2018, she played Emma in This is Us for one episode; then for four episodes, she played a character named Margo in 2018.
